He either added the trans fluid to the engine oil or he is checking the wrong dipstick. CHECK THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL to see that the trans fluid is not in the engine. If the engine oil is full of trans fluid, do NOT START the car and now you need to change the engine oil and also add the trans fluid to the trans. If engine opil is ok, be sure to find correct dip stick for trans fluid. They should be marked accordingly.
Only way trans oil is leaking out of overflow is to much oil in the trans in first place. Did you add trans oil? check level when enine is operating temperature and engine idling in level ground. check 3 times to make it sure. If found overfull simply drain to proper level. If oil is in operating range than you may have trans problem that need professional care.
which oil trans or engine oil? if trans, check the fluid line fron trans to radiator, trans oilpan gasket, if engine oil check oil filter, oil presure switch
if your car over 65000 km done or after last trans service is it have been done over 65000 km from last trans service as a first thing do the trans service with trans mission flush, trans mission flush is very important, it must get done by right place who have the right flushing machine for mercedes trans flushing, it's take 12 Ltr transmission oil + transmission oil filter+ oil pan gasket+ pilot bush, you must ask them to replace all those things this trans service is very important for Mercedes 5 speed automatic transmission, please get genuine Mercedes parts only don't use any aftermarket stuff for this particular transmission, and also need to check transmission control unit, the reason is if you do not trans mission service at right time pilot bush starting to oil leaking, that oil flow through wiring to transmission control unit and it's get wet by oil, if it's get wet by oil it's not functioning properly so can play transmission, other thing is if any thing dose not work for solve your problem you must get it to authorized Mercedes transmission technician to check it can be faulty oil pump or torque converter, I would like to note one more important thin regarding this matter, before do any thing please check transmission oil condition its could be mixed with water, if the oil like milky, it's water in oil, if it's like that you must replace the radiator and trans flush as I note above this is very important for your problem, is this information helped you?

oil and trans plugs on trans pan oil between shocks tough to get to,trans exaust side directly below trans door and it aint a trike trikebuilder harleys dont have differentials but you do change primary oil not rocket science but ya think a book might be a good idea i do
unless someone put trans fluid in your engine oil
the only place that it even has a chance is in the radiator
you will see the trans lines running in and out of the rad.
there are several issues that need to be addressed. I imagine that the trans oil and filter have not been changed in a while so that is a first step in fixing the problem. trans oil and filter should be changed every 50,000 miles for atf oil and 75,000 for synthetic oil. old trans oil and clogged filters are #1 reason for trans slippage. another reason is the trans controle cable is out of adjustment and there fore the trans doesn't shift like it should this is something that needs to be looked at by a mechanic. third possibilty is either the check valves inside the trans valve body are gummed up or you have a failing torque converter. try and get that oil and filter changed and see if this helps solve it if not than you need to takeit to a shop and have the trans rebuilt.
