Never use cemi or fully synthetic in a bike with a wet clutch. That's the very first rule in the book!
I use 10/30 mineral oil. Anything too slippery like cemi synthetic causes clutch slip.
Buy 4L you won't have much left over.

How much oil do you put in a 05 vz calais holden commodore

Hi Cassie If I remember correctly I believe with a new filter you will need 6.5 litre. On saying this yours is an earlier version and might have a slightly smaller sump. If you are purchasing oil make sure you get the correct oil it is very important with this engine also make sure you change it when its due. These engines if not serviced regular will sludge up. Purchase 6.5 litres, if it has a smaller sump it will only be a bit less. When filling fill to the top marker on dipstick it will either be a dot, line or line with a criss cross pattern below it. Good luck

Honda vt250 magna

it sounds like its overfull but if you have changed the oil/filter before with no problem then it may be coincidance that you have a mechanical engine problem or a blocked breather

Hi how much gear box oil do i need to put in my 2005 ktm exc

change the transmission oil run the engine warm and set up the motorcycle

on a horizontal surface. Remove the oil drain screw and drain used oil

into a container. Clean the magnet of the oil drain screw and reinstall oil drain

screw with seal. Pour in 0.7 litres engine oil (e. g. Motorex Top Speed 4T

15W50), replace plug and check engine for leaks.

TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH WILL BE SUBJECT TO EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR,

IF YOU USE TOO LITTLE OR LOW GRADE OIL. USE ONLY HIGH-GRADE OIL (E. G.
MOTOREX TOP SPEED 4T 15W50).

Put wrong oil in engine what will that do.

G'Day mate,

It can do, depends on a few things, have you just added some to top up, what sort did you add. Mixing mineral oils with synthetics can sometimes upset things, reduce the effectiveness of the oil, give you clutch slippage problems, make the engine run noisy, bring about (worst case if its totally the wrong oil) premature failure engine component failure.

If in doubt, for what new oil is worth, i would just drop it and replace with fresh oil. I like to use Activ-4T-Motorbike-Oil-15W-50-4-Litre.aspx?pid=20019#details">Castrol Activ 4t in my older motorcycles. If you are in a cold climate, you may go to a 10/40 oil. Operating temperature is often a decider.

Happy to talk to you further about your repairs. I have much experience in this field:) A testimonial and rating is a great reward for my advice to you is greatly appreciated. It makes helpijng out worthwhile and gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Hope you get things sorted easily. Cheers mate

Pulsar 150

Dear Pravin,

Always check for the oil level before you start for the first time during the day. If you can just shake the bike you'll know how thick or light the oil is. The more lighter, you'll have to change faster. Also check for color. Oil can be maroon/red/dark green/etc. depending on brand. If its really black, change it fast. Dont do top ups. Better drain the entire oil and fill fresh oil.

The oil also acts as a lubricant to the gearbox. If you feel gear shifting is becoming too slippery or too tough, check for the viscousity, as said earlier. Slipping gear shift can also be due to a loose chain. So check for that too.

By the time you finish 1500 kms or 2000kms, its better to change the oil.

It is better to use Castrol Power1 for Pulsar. It prevents overheating and also keeps the engine and gearbox smooth. It also maintains viscousity at high temperatures for better lubrication.

My experience:

I used to put servo and every 900-1000 kms i had to change oil. Now with Castrol, I change only between 1500-2000kms. I'm getting mileage between 50 and 55kms for a litre of unleaded petrol.

Hope this helps in solving your problem.

Have a nice time riding pulsar.

Always wear helmet and drive safely.
