You simply remove any rubber covering on the lever to expose the lever assembly. Remove its holding bolts/nuts. Disconnect the clutch-wire from the lever.
Put in new lever followed by other items you removed.

SOURCE: clutch lever replacement

Mark or measure the cable before disconnecting. I don't know your skill level so your going to have to make that call for yourself. All in all I'd say this is one of the more easier repairs.

SOURCE: Easy steps for replacing clutch lever? -Mark

Follow the clutch cable downward until you get to the rubber bellows that covers the clutch cable adjuster. Slide the bellows up or down to gain access to the adjuster. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster inwards making the cable as short as possible.

Remove the pivot pin for the lever and rotate the lever forward. Positon the lever so that it will come off the cable end. Lubricate the cable end and replace the lever with the new one. Reposition the lever and install the pivot pin. Readjust the cable adjuster so that you have approximately 1/8" of free travel in the lever.

Good Luck

Clutch won't release on 2008 KTM 144 sx

Make sure cables are working . Follow it down to clutch and make sure clutch lever is actually moving. It is does then pull clutch in and pushbike backwards. Should release If not , plates are probably frozen through excessive heat. Replace them. If lever does not move when clutch handle pulled, then adjust or broken cable. hope that' it, easier and cheaper!

Why can I hardly pull my clutch lever in on my 2008-Victory 8-Ball motorcycle

It sounds to me like the inside of the clutch cable itself has broken strands that is making in bind up. Disconnect the cable at the motor (transmission) now see how difficult it is to squeeze the clutch lever on the handle bar. If it is easy to pull back and forth than the clutch cable needs replacing.

I get an error code PE on Samsung washer WA5451washer

PE error code is a pressure sensor code, and more than likely the sensor will need to be replaced. Try unplugging the unit for about 5 minutes and see if it will clear it out. If not, will need to replace pressure switch and hose (switch looks like a little UFO under the console, pretty easy job.

My clutch wont engage.

you need to take the clutch cover off and inside you will find a small shaft going up to your clutch lever. If that lever is broken you will have to replace that shaft. If the clutch shaft checks out check your cable that could be broken. If it is then replace and adjust and you are good to go. Good luck on the bike

I have a broken clutch bearing and icant find the spare

  1. Clutch Lever
    • As the clutch lever is operated over time, it gradually loses its grip on the clutch cable, weakening the clutch lever action until it barely moves the clutch plates. Maintain the clutch lever by ensuring the free play at the lever meets the specifications of the motorcycle's user manual, in which you will also find instructions on how to make this adjustment.
    Clutch Cable
    • Unlike the gradual onset of a clutch lever problem, the somewhat uncommon failure of a clutch cable is instantaneous. With little warning, the clutch lever goes completely slack and the clutch will be inoperable. Keeping a clutch cable well lubricated can prevent failure. However, in the event of a cable failure, a registered dealer should fit a replacement.

    Clutch Plates
    • Problems with the clutch mechanism itself normally manifest themselves in the gear change rather than in the applying and releasing of the clutch lever. Noise, chattering or slipping can be the result of misaligned or warped plates, leaks in hydraulic cables or bearings. Although more serious, if recognized early, these problems will be relatively inexpensive to repair.

Craftsman riding mower blades won't disengage

This is too late, but for the next person: There is an extension spring around the cable attached to the blade engage/disengage lever.

On my tractor one end of the spring had the hook broken off or it. Because it is around the cable it is still in place but doesn't stretch when you engage the blade (so can't pull the pulley out and slacken the belt when you disengage).

The replacement is a few dollars and can be bought on ebay or Amazon.
