Fill through the same place you put the engine oil in (also, check it)

Drain and fill using Acura/ Honda ATF from a dealer only, should require 3.5 quarts. There is a 3/8" drive drain plug and a 17mm filler plug. Any knowledgeable Acura/Honda technician will advise you to do this every 30,000 miles. DO NOT FLUSH! only drain and fill.

I have a 1985 honda atc 125M it shuts off for no reason

Sometimes Honda ATC's wont idle if the exhaust valve is too tight. Check and clean the slow circuit of the carburetor this should fix the other part of the idling problem. A carb gasket set from Honda should have all the components you need to properly seal the carb. Lastly, buy a new carb float needle this should stop the dripping unless you have damaged the drain screw on the bottom of the bowl. This can only be purchased as part of the complete bowl assembly. If you still are having problems after this, try adding an additional fuel filter between the tank and fuel petcock, just in case tank rust is the cause of the needle sticking open and dripping.

How many ozs of shaft drive gear oil for a 2005 honda vtx r motorcycle 1300

hi,not a hard job to do,take the bike for a ride to warm the oil up before you drain it,it makes it a lot easier draining the oil as cold diff oil is quite thick and the hondas only have a small drain hole, get the bke sitting level i normally use a small car jack under each side of the bike just to hold it level, undo the lower drain bolt(about a 10 or 12mm from memory)drain all the oil out into a clean container, inspect the oil for any shiny bits, you shouldnt see any foreign bits on a bike this age though,if you do get the bike looked at straight away, there are a lot of bits and pieces inside that diff and they are very expensive to repair, once you have drained all the oil out replace the drain plug making sure it is tight(but dont strip the thread by over tightening it)undo the filler bolt(large plug type bolt above the drain plug)and fill with a good gear oil(from memory honda use a 80/90w oil)fill the diff to the bottom of the filler plug just untill the oil starts to dribble out of the filler hole, this is the correct level and i think from memory they hold about 280-300mls,a 1 litre bottle does 3 changes..dont forget to put the filler plug back in and tighten it...hope this helps...cheers ian

Where is the filler tube for transmission on the honda passport 97

There are 2 drain plugs in the transmission oil pan. one is higher than the other one. you have to have it running in park, take the upper plug out, fill the trans up with a small hand pump through that hole untill it the trans fluid out that hole. . if you drained the trans already you can top it off before starting. keep it in park with the parking brake on so you dont run your self over. it would be ok to run it through the gears once its full and see if you need to top it off again.
its a pain, and messy. have a drain pan there some rags. and gloves.

How do you put in transmission fluid?

Unfortunately, you have a closed system transmission, there is no dipstick or filler tube. I have a 96 passport and to have fluid replaced in the transmission you need to take it to a garage that is equipped to fill closed transmissions. This generally runs about $100.00 at the dealership. I was on my way to get my transmission serviced when the trans broke. Don't wait long if you're having issues.
