THESE BIKES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A "ONEWAY" STARTER CLUTCH TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE IN THE EVENT OF A MISFIRE AT STARTUP,"KICKBACK". AS FAR AS THE MISFIRE, I WOULD RECOMMEND CHANGING THE PLUGS TO BEGIN WITH. IF THE BIKE ISNT STOCK, I.E. PIPES ARE AIR CLEANERS, IT MAY ALSO NEED REJETTING IF IT HASNT BEEN DONE.

Alarm keeps turning on when I turn on my car starter

Okay, the Avital 4111 is a one button remote starter. So, it has no way of locking your car doors except if wired to lock after start or, after shut down. In the 2010 CRV, the unit should have been wired to disarm the alarm before start(brown wire in kick panel) and to unlock doors when running (grey wire in kick panel in same harness as disarm) with the press and release of the remote starter remote. If the unit is not working in cold weather it may be due to the installer using a valet key instead of a bypass and/or the unit may be programmed for virtual tachometer or voltage instead of having a true tachometer wire connected.

Car starter not running

With the transmission in neutral or park and the hand brake fully applied, insert the key and turn it to the Run position, then cross the starter solenoid terminals with a screwdriver or something similar, being cautious to avoid electric shock. If this causes the starter to turn and start the engine, then your solenoid is bad. Other wise, if there is battery voltage present at the solenoids positive terminal and it has a good ground connection through the starter motor itself, then the starter is bad or the engine is seized.
Good luck.

When i start the car cold,it sounds like it is running on 2 cylinders and has a gasoline smell. Then after a while, something seems to kick in and it idles up high, like it should, and runs good from that...

You might have dead cylinders or your car could be misfiring. Go to Autozone where you can get free diagnostic and they'll tell you what it is exactly. I had a similar problem, took it to the dealer. They replaced my ignition control module ($150-$360) and all is well.

Assuming that this is a three-phase motor, suspect a defective motor starter (look for loose parts or poor contact condition). If the starter is equally new, does it have any warranty? Check the wiring connections for anything loose (motor, starter, source). Good luck!

Ignition switch will not activate starter motor consistently. Sometimes no, sometimes with a second click of key. Cleaned ignition switch contacts and wire harness connector contacts. Could a relay be the...

Bad ignition switch and starter symptoms are similar. The engine will turn sometimes and will not turn some other times. If it is the switch you will not even here a clicking sound. If the starter is bad you might hear a clicking. If the distributor is bad than the engine will turn every time but it will not start running or will start but not run properly (misfire).
