There is no reset switch, you likely have a bad fuel pump, try this use a 2x4 or soft hammer to rap on the fuel tank as someone turns the switch on and off when you hear the pump hum the car will start and run but change the pump immediately. Almost every other problem that occurs in the fuel system will cause the check engine light to come on and it will set a readable code. I hope this helps. Take care.
Sorry ,but you need a better mechanic . This wouldn't be the relay .if it was the relay it would do it all the time . Hooking up a professional scan tool an checking sensor input data to the PCM- engine computer is what should be done . What are the fuel trims at ? short & long trims , are the O2 sensors switching normally , what's the mass airflow sensor data ? any codes stored . It just so happens the relay on your vehicle is a PCB relay . Printed circuit board relay . Which means it's inside the under hood fuse , soldered to the circuit board . Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop.
Here is the manual
FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
After a collision, if the engine cranks but does not start, the fuel pump
shut-off switch may have been activated. The "Fuel Reset" indicator light
will illuminate in the instrument cluster. The shut-off switch is a device
intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been
involved in a substantial jolt.
1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by
pushing in the reset button.
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and
return the key to the OFF position.
5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system.
The fuel pump shut-off switch is
located in the passenger's foot well,
behind the kick panel.
Was the old fuel pump bad? It might be worth the cost to replace the ignition switch. The wires to the fuel pump would be a second guess if the old pump was bad and burnt the wires before the fuse went. When you eliminated the fuel pump you also eliminated the wires to the pump and it started. Then you replaced the pump, but not the wires. The ignition switch is the other end of the circuit.
dave again i just posted you so it is definately fuel related listen to see if the fuel pump turns as described in my last post if it does not you can test the relay by replacing it with a known good relay like the horn if your horn works but your fuel pump does not turn swap em see if the horn works still and if the pump now works. If the pump works and the horn does not reinstal the horn relay in its original position and replace fuel pump relay. do the same with fuel pump fuse as sometimes the fuse looks okay but is not. If you have a test light hook it to ground and make sure both metal tabs on the fuse light the light when the pump is activaed.
