10w40 motor oil. DO NOT USE SYNTHETICS. Just use the basic motor oil with no "Special" additives. The additives / synthetics can swell or shrink the clutch friction plates.

Could you take a moment to rate my answer? Thanks!

Use what Yamaha recommends and do NOT use basic car oils. Especially oils marked energy conserving. The have non friction additives that can cause wet clutches to slip. Synthetic oil is okay as long as it is for motorcycles.

SOURCE: cleaning transmission

You can flush it out with ordinary kerosene. No need to spend lots of money.

any oil that is safe to use for a wet clutch. I use rotella t oil in my bike. I have a yz125 race bike. Rotella T comes in a white bottle and they sell it at walmart. Its safe for wet clutches, cheap, and the pro's use it. Trust me, I know. Rate my answer!
