My 1999 Mitsubishi Diamante won't start. I checked the battery, and it checks out fine (its only a few months old). I cleaned the battery cables and checked the connections. The negative terminal had some corrosion on the connector, so I cleaned it and refastened. I have electricity in the car, and the lights work, but it will not start. When the key is turned, nothing happens. When this first happened, the engine tried to turn over but was unsuccessful. I even tried to jump start the car but it still wouldn't start.
Assuming power is getting to the starter fine I'd have to guess the starter is worn and may require replacement. I'd investigate the starter motor.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

1. Check n clean battery cables with a battery brush. Look at both ends, if able.
2. Check battery acid level. Add if needed, get a jump.
3. All OK? Then get a battery load-test done free at a parts store.
check to see if there is any spark from the spark plug. Take out a plug and hold it (in pliers) close to a metal part of the motor and get someone to turn it over. you should see a small spark. If not then check dizzy cap and rotor
It sounds like you need a new starter. If you hear the starter click when you turn the key to start, replace your starter since you already replaced the battery. You might want to have your alternator checked out, or when you get your car started, test the battery terminals with a multimeter. You should have around 14 volts with the car running. If not, you will need a new alternator. The alternator won't keep the car from starting though, unless the battery was drained because it wasn't charged. Even then it is the battery keeping the car from starting.
If the starter is not clicking, check your fuses under the hood. If all checks out, you may have a bad ignition switch.
Interesting as I just started having a similar problem. AAA said thre is a slow drain on the battery (which is only 6 months old). We can hear a very high pitch sound under the hood which may be part of it, but have no idea yet as to what it is.
At injector's, need to check if you have ground pulsation, to check, connect test light on pos (+) battery terminal, now your set to check ground, at injector harness, probe wire's, while some one cranks engine, look for pulsation, if you don't have pulsation, it will need a computer, injector pulsation is control by the computer, if no pulsation, then no fuel can get into cylinder.
