Bike fallen, motor turns over no problem in neutral but as soon as it's put in gear motor cuts out. some fluid spilt - coolant, fuel, perhaps hydraulic from clutch?

Make sure you have your stand up before you put it in gear. Some bikes have a stand switch that doesnt allow the bike to be in gear while the stand is down. This switch may have been damaged when the bike fell and now be malfunctioning.

It isnt always the switch. i had similar prob with bonny. it ended up being the connector located behind lhs coverplate. to get out of trouble remove side cover, dissconnect connector that connects the wiring to the stand switch and bridge out plug. this will get bike operational but remember safety mechanism for side stand is now bypassed. order new stand switch harness.

Kawaski kmx125 gear problem ?

Do you allow the bike to warm up at least close to the operating temperature before putting it in gear ? I have found that all my bikes needed to get the oil warmed up a bit before being able to engage the gears. It has something to do with the "Wet Clutch" I believe. The only other thing I can think of is if there is a problem with the Neutral Safety Switch.

My 650 dragstar starts fine but cuts out as soon as I engage gear. Have checked the side stand switch and it is working fine. Any ideas?

The side stand switch can work in cojunction with a clutch switch.
It still sounds like a side stand problem, check the wires and plug, use a multi meter to check the switch. If you didnt check it that way.
The switch may work but the stand is not pushing the contact far enough

Does the neutral light work correctly?

Assuming it is not clutch drag with the bike jumping and stalling when put in gear

Gear box goin in to gear but still like it is in nutural

If you select a gear without pulling clutch in it will grind and stall.
If you are certain the bike is engaging a gear and still seems it is in neutral, your clutch drive is broken.
Alternatively, the gear selecter fork bolts maybe loose behind the sidecover, allowing selector to partially engage only and return to neutral. Try selection thru' higher gears, place bike on a stand and turn back wheel in gear, if gears turn and motor doesn't...it is the clutch. If you cannot select a gear proper with rear wheel turning, your selecter is suspect.
Goodluck, and Cheers.

Stalling problem from neutral to first gear

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, if the bike will be run without its own battery, the engine will really stall. This is because there will be no consumer for the voltage output other than the ignition system which will clamp down when the engine is revved and the voltage tends to go higher still.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
