I have an 06 F4i myself. There is no gas guage untill you hit your reserve with is close to 0.9 gallons left. Once you hit that you have about 35 miles left. On your next fill up clear your trip meter which you hold down the bottom left button on your gauges and it will clear it. Ride all the way till your reserve kicks on and see how many miles you have gone till reserve. Now you can use that information to help know how much gas you have in your tank.

I am having the same problem, the electric gas gauge turns on while pressing the ignition switch. once the bike is idling the screen is blank where the fuel level should be displayed.

The gauge only shows up when you hit your reserve tank. It's kind of a reverse gas gauge. Once you hit the reserve, .98 gal or something like that, four solid bars will show up, then one by one, they will start blinking and disappearing, until all four are blinking. When all four blink, you better be by a gas station.

When i first got my cbr the fuel bars where all lit... off i went, then 10 mins later they was flashing.......bike was empty lol.....the fuel bars come on then go off when you put ignition on...... they will stay on if you are low on fuel (eg on reserve) and reset once you re-fill after 30 seconds running...... if they come on then go off and dont come on when you are on reserve then maybe your tank sensor is faulty.

i hope this helps out alittle

I dont understand. You have an electric gage? It should come on when there is power and go off when you turn it off.

Please give me more detail. Id like to help you.

Im sorry, this apparently is not the garden variety electric trouble.

    Good luck with your fix.

Cbr 600 f4i when i take off it goes dead and the fi light comes on

Sound like you have a faulty fuel pump that is about to go out or possibly have a clogged screen. Either way, the bike is starving for fuel when you attempt to accellerate, but is just getting enough to start and idle.
