If the carb is leaking from time to time just open the carb and where the shut off needle goes up to stop the fuel ,get a steel drill bit the exact same size, put it in the hole and rotate it.you want to clean off the gunk that has built up on the seat where the needle sits.YOU MUST DO THIS VERY VERY CAREFULLY AND VERY LIGHTLY SO U DO NOT SCRAP THE METAL.THE ME HOW YOU GOT ON

Hi I have stripped mi Gilera 125 sc down apart from engine and carb. Just panels and petrol tank. Why they have been painted. Now it has a good spark fuel but will not start just seems plug is...

It sounds as though the mixture is way too rich. Is the choke stuck on or malfunctioning? With is dry spark plug but fuel in the carburetor, try turning the fuel valve and choke off and then with ignition on and holding the throttle at least 1/2 open, kick the engine over several times. If it starts under these conditions then perhaps the float(s) in the float bowel have leaked and are full of gasoline causing the fuel to flow continuously into the throat of the carb then into the engine. It probably is some sort of carb mixture setting, choke or needle valve/float problem.

Overflow leaking

From your description (keeps overflowing, spark plug always wet), it sounds like it's flooding.
Because of the overflowing, possibly your float is set too high, or some crud is lodged between the float needle valve and it's seat, not allowing it to seal shut when the float bowl is full, then flooding the carb's mixing chamber.

How to fix honda lawn mowers

Take the carburetor apart again. Check that the needle assembly is still connected to the float and recheck that the jet is seated properly.
It sounds like the bowl is overflowing...post your model number for more details if you need them

Hi I have got a gilera runner 125. 4stroke and the petrol won't go to the carb don't no wot it could be it has been sitting for a year or so tho. Any ideas peeps

The float or float needle in the carb bowl is probably stuck closed. Just remove the float bowl and clean the inside of the carb. Pay special attention to the float pin. Before putting the bowl back on, check to see that the gas flows when the float is lowered and shuts off when the float is raised. If the gas still will not flow when the float is lowered, remove the fuel line. If gas runs out of the line then the float needle is still stuck or trash is blocking the fuel flow prior to the needle. If no gas comes from the fuel line, the gas valve or gas tank fuel valve filter ( usually inside the gas tank ), is probably plugged up with rust or trash. Remove the valve and clean out the trash. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_168.gif tombones49_170.gif

Gilera cougar 125 fuel carb overflow

may be dirt in the tank, or the feed pipe is deteriorated, clean the carb & float needle again and renew feed pipe and fit an in-line filter, ( will only cost a few pounds) it you still have the same problem then it's pretty sure to be the float needle & seat

I'v Cleaned the carb real good checked the neddle seat and it looks new but I can't get the float adjusted right and the gas keeps coming out the over flow tube?

adjust the tab upwards just a tad should be 19mm from the surface off the carb to the top off the float with the float just touching the inlet fuel valve basically with carb at an angle 3ccd62e.jpg
