Ok buddy strip carb off and 4 screws on the bowl and inside you will see the float slide the pivot pin out holding the float in and the float will come off with the inlet fuel valve still attached take this off and the tab it was still connected on you need to bend that down wards to allow more fuel in the carb and into the engine or another thing could be the main jet blocked check the jet first blow down it if ok do the float bit and get back to me gas getting to carborator but not starting - 2774fd5.jpg

Lawn tractor lost power while in use engine slowed down

Check for spark, if spark is present, then remove air cleaner and pour some gas down carb. not to much, then keep away while starting. If motor starts and runs then shuts off you have a stuck needle and seat or fuel pump problem. Also check oil level.

Smell Gas

Well korodiver it sound like the carborator was linking and then it leaked so much that no gas was getting to the carborater. The only thing that will fix your problem is just get a clean peice of cloth and push the acclerator and it will open the valves then just wipe out the carborator and it should fix it.
