Kymco Venox sat for a month and half...trouble starting

I am having trouble getting my Venox 250 to start. Battery new, have a gas additive in it for keeping gas fresh, it turns over but won't crank to fire up. Haven't had any trouble until now. Usually after about the third time it turns over and cranks. HELP.

Loose the gas additive. Clean the air filter and then install new spark plugs. If the bike has carbs, drain the carbs. .... All fixed!

Kymco Venox 250 2nd gear slipping on hard acceleration.

Question edited for clarity. I am sure hard acceleration causes 'exhilaration', but it was the wrong word.

Second gear put the most strain on the clutch for the longest time. First gear is a short shift with the highest torque, second gear is a longer shift but only with marginally less torque. Either the clutch is badly adjusted or the clutch plates and springs need changing.
