What is the charging voltage on a 1986 yamaha maxim x 750? ive been told its 14.2-14.6v @ 3000rpm and ive also heard 13.5v @ 2000-3000rpm?

    Thanks, its charging at 12.9v, my field coil is to specs in a service manual i managed to get ahold of, but stator coil is at 1-1.2ohms instead of .2ohms, is this the reason for the low charging voltage

The voltage should read between 14 and 14.6 volts at 2500 to 3000 rpm

Very difficult to produce. The two frames is different.First one in Virago XV750 is open in front,second one is with closed frame on Yamaha XJ750.
