My 1995 honda magna is leaking gas out of only one carb. Cleaned them twice and new bowl gaskets. Looks to be leaking from above the bowl and only leaks with the gas on.

After putting carbs back together it doesn't leak then slowly gets worse.

SOURCE: % hp Honda Motor runs on choke

Dear LC39B,
Is it possible you are blaming the wrong part of the machine? Did you try the Honda Motor on its own? I am asking , because if the pump of the washer has some fault or a bit jammed, this will demand a lot of power from the Honda. You can try the Honda with no water connection and no gun.
Regarding the Honda motor, you should check the electrical system also. I am saying this because you did not mention it, in your service procedure.
Regards,
MG.

SOURCE: I have a 88 honda accord with carb that i cant get to idle down

Should be an idle adjusting screw on the side of the carburator that you can adjust to move your idle down.

SOURCE: craftsman 20 hp 42 in deck leaks gas into the oil pan.

could put a inline shut off valve in the fuel line and shut it off when you finish or fix it right? .
you need to replace the float the needle valve and seat ( the part that the needle valve pushes against to stop the gas inlet maintained by float level.
You need to find you engine mod# type# code# code is not important
look on overhead valve covers for these #s they are right in line wherever you find the #s if its an overhead valve engine
go to partstree.com and find briggs logo and click on it and enter your #s or choose from the ones they give and match them with yours and you should be able to find the part numbers you need for this carb.and get them locally or order from them.
maybe this will help cure your issue

SOURCE: I own a 1993 Yamaha

If the carb is leaking fuel and the leak is not at the hose fitting,

  • either the float needle is missing
  • the needle is being held open by trash
  • The float level is set wrong
  • The float is bad and is filled with fuel
  • The last two are the most likely since you have cleaned the carb well. Be sure the float is free on the hinge pin.

How to fix a leaked 400cc Kawasaki carburettor?

Its probably the float sticking in the carb, not shutting off the fuel flow when the bowl fills to the proper level and the leak is really gas flowing out the overflow.

Disassemble the carb and gently clean the needle and seat with Scotch Brite oven pad. Some needles have a rubberized tip and if so, do not attempt to clean with the pad, but inspect it for a worn 'ring' around the perimeter that is failing to seal off the flow of gas into the bowl through the seat. A replacement needle is required if in fact it looks indented.

IF you have already disassembled and cleaned the inside of the carb, you may have jeopardized the intergrity of the bowl gasket. Get some gasket sealant at the local auto parts store and disassemble the carb again. Use a toothpick to run a thin...thin...thin line of Form-a-Gasket sealant around the perimeter of the bowl and GENTLY reassemble the carb. A thin line is a MUST as any excess can be squished inside the carb and possibly block an idle jet of inhibit the action of the float.

Magna 750 carb bowl blocked

sorry but you're going in. the float needle sound like they are plugged. the best way to go is to pull the carbs and clean them out. Don't adjust anything! Then I would recomend installing an inline fuel filter
