No ignition spark after battery change

Hello, after replacing battery, MC started no problem. MC then sat for maybe 2 months. When attempting to then start the MC, it will crank over but no spark. Bike is alarmed. Havent been able to find an electrical diagram. Bike is 2002 Dyna Low Rider with alarm. Any help you could offer would be great!!!!!!

Are you sure it has no spark or are assuming that because it cranks and wont start?? It may just be stale gas if you have spark. Personally, IF it really has no spark before I tried anything else I 'd charge the battery. Some bikes are EXTREMELY intolerant of low voltage levels and while you may have enough juice to turn it over, it may not have enough to run the coils, ignitors, etc. . It ran when you put the new battery in so that tells me its more than likely OK otherwise and the battery may have simply discharged a tad from sitting and now cranking it. Trickle charge it (2 amp) overnight and try it again.

My Toyota Tazz 1300 battled a bit to start this morning. Made a bit of a sound and then started. The battery was replaced 3 months ago, so it is not that. Possibly the starter?

Hello Elize
It could be a lot of things and the fix could be just as simple as changing the engine oil. When the engine oil is not changed - it gets thick and causes starting problems.
1) Clean engine oil.
2) Need new spark plugs or re-gap the spark plugs.
3) Check ignition electrical systems
4) dirty air filter - change air filter
5) change the fuel filter
6) water in gas tank - put in some wood alcohol to remove the water in the gas tank.

Yamaha Grizzly 600 backfires and doesn't want to idle

Did you line up the stator plate line with the notch on the cases? Sounds like your ignition timing is set a bit retarded. I would pull the side cover off and check the timing marks.

Have you checked that you have power to the coil on cranking? You may also want to check wether you have a good strong spark at the spark plug.It could be an ignition module breaking down.If you have no power to the coil you may need to change the ignition relay. Its close to the battery.
