Hi buddy what i would do is just bump the bike in 2-3 gear just simply go down a hill rolling then when you get enough speed let the clutch out and it should start then just leave it running for 10-20mins so the alternator charges the battery

The battery is under the seat. Take off the side panels, unscrew the seat and open the battery box. The battery can most likely be recharged but a trickle charger will not work...you will need a full-on battery charger and let the battery charge overnight. AutoZone, Lowe's and Home Depot all have rather inexpensive battery chargers.

Rectifiers, coil pickups, stator plugs melting and the notorious cam chain tensioner are problems with this bike, i know i own an 87 and an 88. you can be lax with the three, but if you start to here chain slap, coming from the top end of the motor,.. change the tensioner quick! i changed mine out in 20 minutes and you should have seen its condition, it was wobbly, leaking, and worn on one side, the bike had approx 42k on it.

I had my battery die after sitting for a while on my CBR 600 F and I brought it to AutoZone and they placed it on a trickle charger. I see no reason why you couldn't do the same at home. And the others are right on accessing it. Simply remove the rear side plastics, then the 2 seat bolts (one on either side), and lift the rear of the seat up and pull back to expose the battery box. Jump-starting it is also a good method. If the battery keeps dying, I would check the rectifier/regulator. Mine went not too long ago as well and I found one on eBay for cheap $. Hope that helps!

Left the key on my riding mower it drained the battery, recharged the battery, engine turns over no spark.

Hello Sidejobbob,

Depending on the VINTAGE of your motor...
Pointless ignition or ignition points are a single element...
check it out...

Move on to your coil... (check battery & ground
(nothing more than a transformer))...
I recommend a SPARK TESTER... (see below)
But a helpful neighbor can correctly hold the
HIGH-VOLTAGE close to any ground (observe spark
(or better... jump & howl with each spark)).

Of course the plug must be clean & dry...
fuel fresh & flowing = ENGINE RUNNING.

3 X (BLAH)... Happily ever after.

I have 2004 chev tahoe w/ a viper remote starter system, but no key fob. I replaced the car battery & now the cars computer won't let it start. How do I reset the computer?

The car's computer wont let it start?
Well, if you changed the battery and the viper alarm is the issue; locate the push button valet/programming switch. Turn the ignition on, press and release the switch. The alarm will disarm and you can start the vehicle.
To put the alarm in valet, turn the ignition on then off, within 10 seconds press and release the valet switch. The LED will illuminate solid to show that the system is in valet.

Ignition key won't turn

Try turning the key while jerking the wheel left and right and depressing the brake pedal. If that won't work try another key.

Won;t crank

Hi, if the car engine fails to crank, there is a fault in one of the components in the battery/ignition/starter circuit. Low battery (Check battery voltage, recharge if low, or jump start with another vehicle or battery charger). Bad starter relay/solenoid (Check for voltage at relay, if relay has voltage but there is no "click" when key is turned to start, replace relay). Bad ignition switch (Check to see if voltage reaches starter relay/solenoid when turn to start. If not, check for open P/N switch and brake or clutch pedal switch. Replace ignition switch if defective).

Left lights on ,and ran down battery. When i try to jump start, alarm goes off,key fob wont work till battery charges tried putting key in ignition and turning key, tried locking and unlocking door. what...

Find the alarm and disconnect it, or locate the fuse to the alarm and remove it. Then you can charge the battery without all the noise. Once the battery is charged, hook the alarm up and disarm it with the remote.

Ignition problem

Check the starter fuse. Could have popped, and would explain the trouble.
