You have a bad battery or disconnected something . Major disconnect. I own piaggio equipment many of.. the clicking is also a known issue with start relay being way underated it's 50A and should be 100 min. There's a recall or upfit look son A1 site out of Texas. . Clicking is start relay . Not getting enough juice . Battery is low . . Or no good usually. Get something in their besides a 12 Y battery try a 15 ETX DEKA

sounds like a poor ground issue, pull out the headlight and check all connections in there, your turn signals are on seperate feeds than the lights but they will probably share the same ground/earth in the headlight

test the batt -it must be 12v at all times -slightly lower and ignition wont function
SOURCE: New bike 2008 k1200 gt starting problem when hot
if the clutch burned out it must have been slipping causing lots of heat inside were the starter is, all this extra heat wont do the starter any good at all, if its still under warrantee get it back as its clearly not right,, not at all like bmw?

It's more than likely to be the multifunction switch , the contacts get
dirty and cause the flasher to continue to click . The flasher and
hazard switch are one unit behind the dash , that's why you hear the
sound from there.
The next step would be cleaning your multifunction switch. Clicking it
into place wears away at it, leaving metal shavings in the grease
surrounding parts. When enough metal accumulates, it likes to short and
constantly complete the circuit.
Good luck and keep me posted, this was a recall and the fix was to clean the grease used, and or replace the unit.

Steve, take the starter off and have it checked at a local parts store ie:Auto zone, O'reiley's ect. I would be willing to bet that the starter is out. the reason i think this is because of that fact that you said that the lights go out when you turn the ignition to the "start" position, this usually means there is a short in the starter. For a quick fix, you could have someone hold the key in the on position and lightly tap on the starter with a hammer to see if it is just bound up.
