Sounds like a wire or plug got disconnected while changing the headlight out, the harness that connects to the clutch safety switch, the one that lets the ignition fire when cranking only when the clutch is pulled in. A safety feature so you don't dump the bike if you crank it while in gear.
Since it is after the headlight change, all I can think of is an electrical connection or short related to servicing the headlight. But since you can push start it, I go back to the clutch, there may be a redundancy that institutes an ignition kill while starting electrically along with the starter kill without actuating the clutch. I've imagined several possible scenarios, but the fact that you can push start the bike takes me back to the wiring harness and the headlight service. I'll not give up thinking about it until you can push the button to start it though. :D
