I'm trying to figure out what kind of battery a schwinn electric scooter takes it is a s-180

From Schwinn support page: "Currie Tech has licensed the Schwinn logos for use on their electric scooters. If you're looking for any type of information, parts, or service for your scooter, please visit their web site at Currie Technologies Hybrid Best Electric Bikes and Bicycles Bike" They may be able to ID the model year if that is important to you. It appears they no longer manufacture bikes under the Schwinn name, however.
But for a battery just Google "Schwinn lightning fs 2.0 battery".

First make sure the scooter is off.
Unscrew and take off the deck
Unplug and remove the old battery pack
Put the new battery pack in and plug it in, using the same connection as the old batteries pack.
Screw the deck on and your done!
Oh, and make sure you give the battery a good charge(the full charging time). The first charge of a battery is the most important one.

Check your charger with a meter and see if it is putting out the correct voltage for your scooter battery. If it is, you probably need a battery, probably so anyway after 2 years. Good luck!

I am having the same problem. By all indications it looks like the motor controller is the problem. Everything else works OK. I am pulling the controller tomorrow and replacing. If that doesn't work I am junking it.

Hi you can use the charger if the Specifications match up. Output volts, Amps, Charger size, The most important is it 24 volt or 36 volt charger. Check your scooter to see what volt it runs at. Must be equal to your scooter!
