SOURCE: lost keyless remote
take it to a local dodge dealer or a stereo store and they could tell u how to disable the alarm
SOURCE: only if very humid or after heavy rain gmc 97
sounds like moisture is getting into your wiring or even the ecu
SOURCE: I have a 97 Grand Am Which the theft system is
Very Very Common GM Problem.
It is called a PassLock 2 system.
You can reset the computer yourself very easily.
Turn key to ON position (do NOT start). Leave in ON position for EXACTLY 10 MINUTES. As SOON as the anti-theft light quits flashing, and turns off, then IMMEDIATELY start the car.
That''s it!
You can do this everytime and it will work.
They do sell a passlock 2 bypass kit very affordable online that you can install but you won't have anti-theft but you won't have the problem either.
SOURCE: car cut off, won't restart, later cranks up fine , no fault code
check your ignition fuse under the hood and make sure your battery is good worst case its your alternator
