1988 Kmx 125`hits short flatspot /stutter at 8000 revs

Hi ive got a e reg kmx 125 for the road i recently removed the washer from the exhaust and have since started to notice a small stutter /flatspot at around the 7k-9k rev range
i can ride through the power drop sometimes but the jerky ness is not nice .
bikes ok if i change gear around 7k and it seems better if i dont open the throttle fully
i allso think my rear shock is knackerd as it is very soft/bouncy with very little resistance in it
i have checked and replaced the airfilter and removed the carb which was clean need to re check though as i didnt blow through the jets

any help would be greatly apreciated
thanks in advance

You changed the back pressure in the exhaust and that is what causing your problem either put the washer back in or have the carb properly jetted

Kmx 125 1995 engine rattle at high revs does rattle at low but not noticable till high revs also anyone know why a vfr400 grey import isnt charging battery? has new voltage regulator still not charging...

Rattle generally means detonation, which will destroy your engine. How quickly that will happen depends on the severity of the detonation. You can cure detonation by retarding the timing, cooling the intake charge, using higher octane gas, or lowering your compression.

Kmx 125

If you are talking about the carbon, oil buildup, the easiest way is to put it on the grill or throw it in a fire! You will have to paint it afterwards, tho. I have seen people put it in diesel fuel or kerosene, and light it on fire, but always be super careful with flammable liquids! If it has a baffle or silencer, take it out also

Kawasaki KMX 125 losing power

hi man,
I had a similar problem, so maybe I can help you. it can be connected with air filter. under your seat there should be some kind of cover on the air filter. just remove it. I've noticed this problem when I unrestricted my KMX 125. the hole on the cover on the air filter is too small.
