I have a 1997 eagle talon tsi awd. i was driving home from work one night & my car suddenly shut off. i thought i might have run out of gas because it was low but after adding a few gallons, still nothing. i noticed the fuel pump wasn't coming on when turning the ignition ON so i figured it was the pump. i tested the pump & it worked fine. i then assumed it could be the relay but i tested both the fuel pump relay & mfi relay, but both worked fine. i tested to see if voltage was getting to the fuel pump connector & it got about 10v while cranking, yet i still get no fuel pressure. i'm stumped on where to look next. should i start looking at sensors, cam or crank sensor maybe?
Sounds like a bad fuel filter, or fuel pressure regulator. If there is no pressure to the rail, the fuel filter is either clogged, or the fuel line is broken or kinked somewhere between the fuel pump and fuel rail.

Does it sound like it even tries to start? like sputter or anything?
Check for fuel getting to the pistons. Maybe loose or faulty electrical connection to the fuel injectors.
SOURCE: 1997 Eagle Talon TSI AWD oil pressure goes from zero to normal and back
Te 1st thing to do is replace the oil pressure guage sending unit, most times that is the problem, if press remains low use a mechanical test guage to verify what the oil pressure is, hook this tester up at the port the sending unit is screwed into.

First thing you can do to try a simple fix is replace each spark plug, check each plug for signs of fuel/air mixture
if your plug is black is rich, if ur plug is white is lean.
in this case repost your findings. in the mean time if they look golden or light brown, replace them and make sure they are gapped to ur level of psi you are running.
you can find the gap specs for how much boost you are running on most DSM websites or by searching.
SOURCE: my 1996 eagle talon tsi (just bought) idles rough
It may be a dirty air cleaner or a dirty Idle Airflow Valve . The IAC can be cleaned by taking off the duct work that goes from the air assembly to the fuel injector hole. The valve is to one of the sides of the hole just inside. You will see two small holes. Buy some card cleaner and with your engine running at about 1300 rpm spray the cleaner directly into these holes. Spray for a good 10 seconds. Stop the engine and let the cleaner soak in. Repeat this about 4 times. If it still idles rough it may be the Idle position sensor or you have to replace the IAC.

If the engine is turning over, you have chekced the starter, coil pack and all that fun stuff...well bad news
You happen to have an eagle talon tsi, which has the 4g63 engine in it, mitsubishi made this wonderful engine great, but it has a major flaw, a very common problem for the 4g63 is called "crankwalk" its when the bearings in the crank break, and some other things cause this, but none the less, the crank moves (walks out) and destroys the reluctor ring and crankshaft position sensor, basically you have to rebuild the bottom end of your engine or just get a new one, I have had 3 talons and eclipses with this engine and 2 of the 3 have done this to me.
Sorry if this is your problem but no point in waisting time looking at minor reasons.
