I have 03 gsxr 1000,it has started to pinging when i hit the gas hard and also has droped the RPM's when idealing. I have chainged the fuel pump whith a spare i had in the grage and checked the spark plugs and cleaned the air cleaner. It acks like its runing lean.I had to turn the ideal screw a 1/8 a turn so it will not die when siting at a light or it will shut off. when riding at any speed on the road its fine until you want to pass some one give gas hard and you hear the engine ping hard for a few seconds then stops. It sounds like my 1969 Camaro that i had when my timing was to far advanced. I dont have much money to spend at the moment. I use this bike for trans. My job is 78 miles one way. Could i damage the engine riding with this problem. Ive been babying it till i can make have enough money to buy the parts.Could some one tell me what it could be that causes this or what i need check.

Clean or replace air filter..then if the doesn't do it, go to Autozone and purchase a can of Sea Foam fuel treatment and pour in 1/3 can to 2 gallons of fuel, purchase or clean up your fuel filter and then dump out the fuel in it, now pour some Sea Foam into the filter and then start it up. if it doesnt start up, then push start it, and get on it and go! Ride for about 10-15 miles on and open highway where you can get on it occasionally to let the stuff work its way through the fuel system. If this did not fix it, then check all your vacuum lines, spray around the carb areas and lines with some carb spray, if the rpm increases ..then theres your problem. Can you rate this! thanks
does your bike have a kickstand switch...maybe hitting the speed bump caused the stand to move and killed the engine...also i think your bike has a tilt switch under the seat near the gas tank not real sure on the location but it just sounds to me like what would happen if you hit the kill switch...just throwing out some ideas let me know it it helped.
