If it still runs and rides I would think timing chain. If it was coming from the clutch I wouldn't think it would still pull itself.

Testimonial: "yes its running fine and clutch still works, I will look into the timing chain as soon as I find a shop manual for her,its a barn find, thank you Dan !"

SOURCE: 04 murano right side engine rattle

Hello windy....There are a few thing on the murano that could cause this... one is the exhaust gussets that go to the bottom of the oil pan to the exhaust, they can crack and cause a rattling noise. Also I have seen the rear exhaust heat shield spot welds come loose and cause a rattling noise, from exhaust manifold down pipe on the cat. converter. I would check them first, also the park brake cable will lose tension and rattle on the undercarriage.
A more serious problem would be the timing chain and/or chain tensioners...these are known to make noise around 50-60k. The tensioners are operated from oil pressure, the face gets worn, the chain stretches and it results in a rattle or a slapping noise
Useing a full synthetic oil with regular maintaince will help prevent premature wear.
Good luck, i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.

SOURCE: My 2002 Dodge Neon makes a loud, almost grinding

I'd say there's no grease left in the CV joint boots, if it's front wheel drive. Something you should check right away, as your car has about reached that age, and if you run it without grease in the boots, you'll eat up the joints in a big hurry, and that's costly and dangerous as well.

SOURCE: loud rattling noise coming from the engine

Are you losing power as well? if so it sounds like the camshaft is worn, this can be confirmed with a compression test

I want to lower my 1984 Yamaha Venture Royale with air ride suspension as I am a short person

you can but you restrict the travel of the shock absorber so every bump will be hard felt
I would go to a service dealer, explain the problem and see if there are OEM shockies available or after market shockies of shorter strike

How do I adjust the headlight on a yamaha royal star motorcycle

It it's a Venture, there's a knob on the left side, in front of the fork pivot, turn clockwise to lower the beam, counterclockwise to raise it.

If it's just a Royal Star, the adjustments may be made through holes on both sides, cut low in the headlight rim.

I just bought a 2005 royal star venture. It's a great bike. The problem is a gear noise very loud when a ride in a constant speed. The noise become very loud and it very unpleasant after more than a hour....

Hi: It is "normal" for most royal star ventures to have a loud chirping sort of gear noise at certain rpms. Mine does it in every gear. It is especially noticable at between 100 and 110 kms/hr. If you increase or decrease the speed it gest better. This noise is because of the straight cut gears. Yamaha does this for strength and reliability but it is annoying. You can read more about it on the Venture owners sites such as The Venturers or VentureRider.org. It is nothing to worry about but I know it is annoying. Mine does it too. The RSV has a few quirks like this. nothing serious but somewhat annoying. THe other common thing is that the speedometer reads about 7% high. Mine does and many do. However, it is a very smooth, and very reliable bike. Hope that helps.
