Went to start my bike an it wouldnt start, checked it the next day an it started right up. Two days later riding down the road it accited like it was starving for fuel an died. sat on the side of the road for 5 min. tried to start my bike again an it fired rite up. still rideing it. fuses are good, fuel is good, spark was good. what the ****. on the day it wouldent start i pulled the tank and a spark plug turned an over the engin. igot spark. so.... i figure its a fuel problem. i havent gotten into my bike yet to do any thing as far as checking the fuel system. QUESTION. do i have fuel filters? fuel pumps like automobiles? do i have a gravity feed system? breather valve pluged? filter or screen inside the tank? i work on cars but have never worked on a motorcycle. suggestions? thank u.
You could possibly have a bad fuel petcock they sometimes work there way out and cause fuel cut off to half the carburetors. The vent tube on tob of the tank can also become blocked. You can check it buy sucking on the tube and making sure you can **** air out of it. You may or may not have inline filters under the tank. If it's a 93 there is no fuel pump.
Gravity fed their is no fuel pump. if you do have a filters it will be inline between tank and carbs. you could have sediment in your tank also.
