have a look at the key way behind the fly wheel(fly wheel may have sliped)!!or it may be the crank seals have gone.

Sounds like sand in the reed valve block.
Take the carb off & carefully remove the reed block ensuring no more sand goes into the crankcase. Clean & replace

Ave got a ktm 125sx 02 bike wont start with a kick but will start with a bump easy and ave chanced the coil plug and ht cap and when running has plenty of power and got compresson any ideas

unfortunately the most cmmn cause for a bike not starting ff the kick start but starting with a bump is being too low on compression, although to you foot it may feel like enough it does need to be nearly 100% as high as it should be to kickstart.the easiest way to check the condition of the piston is to take the exhaust off and look up the port in the barrel ,it is usually the exhaust side of the piston that gets damaged as it gets hotter.good luck.Adam

Why doesn't my 1992 honda cr250 kickstart? No movement is it seized up

have you tried putting the engine in 6th gear then pull the cutch in and try and bump start JUST to see if the engine rotates ? if yes it rotates then the kickstart mec has locked and you need to remove the clutch case and investigate ! if no then drain water and remove the cyl head and barrel to see if its damaged , could even be the crank bearings ! how exactly did this happen , did it stop while riding or was the bike not used for a while ?? get back with any more info and it give me more idears of how to help ! cheers

Bike wont start

when you drilled out the pilot jet you destroyed it. Even if you have jewelers bits they are to big. One drill bit size is 6 to 10 jet sizes. Replace the pilot jets, you are running WAYYYYY to rich at idle.

My kx 60 wont kickstart but it will bump start

Sounds like low compression. Do a compression test, and it should have at least 90psi,..if not,its time to rebuild the top end..(piston,rings,bore)...pretty common for two strokes.

Hi there i have a ts 185 and when i kick it it fires and stops with a puff off smoke out of the carby can u tell me whats causing this to happen

Hi, does this bike backfire at all? Noticable as the kickstart hits you hard as you try to start the bike, these bikes used to suffer with cdi ignition failure, eventualy breaking the kickstart ideler gear inside the gearbox which in turn the oil pump drive was also fitted to this,

Have put a new piston kit in my 1993 kx125 dont have a kickstart and it wont bump start 4 some reason, theres fuel going through and there is a spark but a weak one will just a new plug get it going?

how long was your bike sitting for when you did the new piston? change the old fuel out the tank if the bike has been stood for along period of time the fuel may have gone off. have you installed the piston the correct way round?

1974 honda scrambler wont kick start their is nothing their whats wong with it and my start button is no good so i got a bike that wont go anywhere

You have probably sheered off the teeth that engage the kick start with the gearbox, else ( more commonly ) the spline in the kickstart lever has worn out and is slipping on the input shaft.
You should still be able to bump start your bike ( in second) .
All the relevant broken bits are on the right side of the engine, I would remove the kick start lever and remove the right crankcase cover for a look.
You should still be able to get bits for your bike, they are getting collectable and some parts interchange across models.

1987 kawasaki ninja zx10 wont stay running when warmed up it

you didnt mention anything to do with the carbs so try some "Sea foam".... purchase at Autozone ($10) pour 1/3 can to two gallons fuel and drive it around for a good 10 to 15 miles and get on it once in awhile, ride safe..if the carbs are dirty or clogged... they wont be after your ride..there might be a little hesitation your first couple of miles till it starts to work..it took my bike 10 miles before it cleared out..bump start your bike if you have to to get it going and keep it going till it clears up.
