Can you tell were about the leak is coming from ?

  • Anonymous Aug 13, 2009

The problem you are having is more than likely the carb boot which attaches between the head and the carb. that year up to approx. 1994 Yamaha had very weak rubber, sudden back fires or vibration would crack the rubber causing a broken seal which in turn would cause excessive flooding. Replacement boots are of far better quality which eliminated this problem. Would also be a good idea to purchase a carb kit , appox. 25 bucks, which includes o-rings needle and seat valve. Just incase that this maybe a combination of your problems.
Hopefully this helps you out, Let me know other wise, I am thinking of quiting this site being that everyone runs with the info posted, and never returns to grade you on the info they have recieved .

I have a 1995 Toyota corolla and I recently noticed I had a gas leak I sealed the hole with JBL epoxy to hold me over until my new tank arrives but it looks as if there is oil mixed in with the gas .

Keep checking the oil level and the transmission fluid level to make sure they stay full, but there should be no oil in the gas tank.
There may be water, however, and it may be brown like oil.
Water will sit in the bottom of the tank and make rust underneath the gasoline, since gasoline floats on water.

I start my chainsaw and about 10 seconds after its started it starts smokeing and bogging out,how do i fix that

Check the oil mixture sounds like you have to much oil in gas.try mixing it at 32:1.If it has tomuch oil it,s bogging down because it,s fouling out the plug.

1. what ratio of oil/gas do I use? 50/1 or 40/1? 2. unit 155 BT backpack leaf blower leaks gas onto my back when I use. Help?

50-1..... but be very careful and exacting with this mix... one can usually pick up a six or eight pack of these mixes that are meant to mix with one gallon (as close to exact as possible ..but never go over on the gas amount and dump a little bit of the gas back into the mix oil container ,shake it and pour it back into the gallon jug to get all the oil out of it or your mix will be diminished and may possibly be to hot and overheat your piston....) the leak can generally be fixed by aquiring a fuel hose kit at a hardware store for your particular model...it could be one of a few problems ...a cracked hose or rubber seal on tank or possibly a loose hose or clamp on the carburator..check the tank itself for leaks and the fuel cap seal (a flat rubber ring ..or possibly the vent in the cap ,which is designed to not let fuel through, only air)....it should be evident when blower warms up... a slight seep is more evident than a good sized one that drips quickly...try to tighten fittings before going through cost of repair kit...if it has been dropped on a hard surface...the tank itself or the fuel cap may be cracked...
Happy blowing! ..and let me know...Oh...one more issue is that the primer bubble may have a pinhole leak in it...and check air filter for if it is dirty it could possibly creat a vaccuum in carburator that **** more gas than the blower engine can use...causing a blowback and flooding problem...

Suzuki rm 250 2 stroke is leaking oil from the exhuast,is it a problem with the engine or am i mixing the fuel too rich

The standard mix is 4 ounces of two stroke engine oil to one gallon of gas. Do not use standard motor oil. Only use two stroke engine oil.

My B&S Yard Machine shoots out white smoke it also leaks out oil and gas mixed

If this is a 4 cycle mower (seperate places for gas and oil) and you are using a oil and gas mix as I am reading from your post that is your problem. When you use a gas&oil mix in a 4 cycle you get smoke and if fouls your spark plug. Also be more specific where the oil and gas mixed is leaking from. I SUGGEST THAT YOU DRAIN OUT THE GAS&OIL MIX AND CLEAN THE SPARK PLUG OR REPLACE AND FILL WITH STRAIGHT GAS AND SEE HOW IT RUNS.

Good luck

Gas/oil mix

Most trimmers are using a 50:1 mix. 2.6oz/gal or 6.4oz/2.5gal. A 4oz/Gal is a 32:1 mix which way too oily and you will have problems of excessive smoke, oil leaking out muffler, carbon buildup causing sticking piston ring or a clogged spark arrestor.

The exhaust is leaking a gas/oil mix

Hello;
White smoke is from coolant in the combustion chambers. Oily mix out the tailpipe is an indication of damage in the engine, and probably catastrophic at best. You need to have a mechanic check it out.
