When i Have half a tank of petrol bike cuts out

When the petrol tank is full the bike runs like a dream, but when gets half full when changing down gears or coming 2 a stop the bike looses power and cuts out, this is only solved by putting on reserve, then works fine. then i have to go re-fill the tank even know i know there is still half a tank of fuel in there I can only do around 60miles before i have 2 re-fill, does anyone have any idear why this might be?

I only got around 60 miles before i had 2 fill up just check the fuel system for air leaks coz a pipe came off mine and it just drank fuel also check the fuel to air mixture.

MC Dies upon ANY throttle application. HELP!

Odds are that if it sat for a year with fuel in it, the carb may be gummed up. Opening the throttle will cause an immediate engine stop if it is not getting fuel.

I'd recommend a "clean out the carb" project, including using air to blow out allof the small orifices.

Hi... Mec C200 W203 2007 model it cut off when petrol is on half tank but when full no problem. .I have changed the fuel filter thinking it might be faulty but that didn't help. .I checked the return pipe...

Check valves may be faulty in the fuel line. Your gauge may not be working properly, showing 1/2 tank when it is actually empty. Have you checked how many miles till it stops? Also try this link.

Starts then cuts out

With the little info that you have given I would first say to verify that the carb has an un restricted supply of fuel getting to it, has the proper fuel level in the carb bowl when full. If the unit has a vaccuum operated(automatic) fuel valve ckeck the vaccuum hose for good condition. If it has a PRIme position try running in this position. If all is good the valve may be bad. Good luck.

Hi My motorcycle Hero Honda Dawn had problem at the time of starting a journey. The bike showing some Power missing alternatively . But it will solve after 10 minutes of ride, What is the problem Is it...

possible weak battery? its better after a run... when it's charged a bit off the alternator. it's possibly not holding the charge overnight and being a bit sluggish in the morning... have it checked - a half charged battery makes a half charged coil... zap? . which will spark but not quite so good as a fully charged coil ZAP!
also check the plug for oil fouling and check if the oil level is too high - if so drain the oil down to the Full mark - this can happen after a lot of failed starting attempts as unburned petrol gets past the cylinder into the sump, filling it up... If THIS has happened you need to change the oil and filter, oil full of petrol does not lubricate the engine!!! - I think its 10W30 for your bike, it takes about 2 pints.
Sounds like its almost definitely electrical tho...

Having driven through torrential rain. stoped for petrol bike would not restart. local daeler sugguested that thebattery wa defective, battery changed bike cut out again. I suspect water in the electics...

yes it is possible. buy yourself a can of WD40 (penetrating oil)... spray all electrical parts and wiring you can see with that. it will repel the water but it does not conduct electricity. also buy a bottle of gas line antifreeze and put half of it in your fuel tank. it sucks up any water you may have in your fuel (petrol)
