Cbr 1000 huricane , was running normaly , i stopped switched it off now wont start smell of petrol but no overflow , could it be air filter is clogged or something from there

check the spark plug. if was working fine before i would start there and work your way back from that. clean the spark plug and test on a meter top part to the tip on the electrode. then check the lead then the wire/s into the coil pack

Get a can of wd40 and spray your coil and wires. the wd40 will displace moisture and if it is a water problem it will fire and start. good luck

1983 honda shadow vt750c. not getting spark. power to coils. plugs are good. is there a way to bypass the cdi boxes so i don't have to use them

Dis-connect the negative connection from the the top of the motor and check for corrosion. The bike with not fire if it isn't getting a good ground. I have a 1983 750 shadow would not start dumped a lot of parts into it before I found the corroded connection.

What spark plugs and wires do i need for my 1988 vt 1100 honda shadow?

On this Honda the wires do separate from the coils. The wires with spark plug caps attached are sold separately . They are priced from $35 to $45 each( about $160). You can purchase bulk wire($5-$8 for 6ft Copper plug wire) and NGK spark plug caps ($5 each) and make your own. All materials should be available at your local dealer.

1997 Honda vf750c turning over but not starting

In order for it to start, you need to find out if it got spark and fuel. If you thinks it fuel, you could try a small shot of starting fuild into the air filter box. If it fires and then dies out it definitly lacking fuel. If it does fire up with starting fluid, you need to check spark. Remove one of the plug wires and install a spark plug on it. Gorund the plug to engine by resting it on a metal part. Locate the plug as to be able to see the gap on the plug. Crank engine over and check for spark at the gap. If no spark check kill switch. Ed

Plug change

Most coils have the leads attached this way. The core of the lead is screwed onto the output pin of the coil, and then glued in to hold it tight. If you can break the bond and thread the lead off, it should become fairly clear.
