the cam has arrows marked on it that should line up with 2 marks inside the cam housing. The picture is shoeing the correct position. you will need to put the flywheel on and line it up with the arrow on the flywheel pointing at the right hand side ignition module screw so that the piston is at top dead centre. Once the piston is at TDC then you put the cam gear in and line the arrows up.
just looked at a couple of pistons not sure what the letters mean ,,,but when installing the piston make sure the arrow always points to the exhaust port of the cylinder
