There is at least 5 main wires on that car, I would recommend going to the junk yard and replacing it

SOURCE: I have an 05 Kawasaki Ninja 250 which got stolen. My ignition switch was broken all up . I need to move my bike but can't start it. How do I bypass the ignition switch start my bike

Hi Thomas:
My sympathies re your bike getting stolen.
There will undoubtedly be a way to bypass the ignition but you must appreciate that anyone posting that information would really be contributing to the potential theft of a lot more bikes.
Also, since the amount of damage is unknown, doing any hot wiring could lead to more problems.
If you had insurance, the cost of moving the bike should be covered.
If you didn't, I'd recommend getting some buddies with a pickup truck, some straps, and the promise of beer and pizza when the bike gets into your shop.
Best of luck.

Ignition wire is getting hot and melting the ignition switch. The longer the bike runs the hotter it gets. I've replaced the ignition once already last year and just replaced the starter relay switch...

Why has the fuse not blown? If the wire is getting this hot then the fuse if correctly sized should blow to prevent a burnout. You failed to give the year of the bike so cannot help any further. Check all fuses for correct rating. Have you installed extra electrical equipment incorrectly? Overload on the system perhaps? Unless you understand auto electrics and have access to a DC clamp meter to check all circuits then I sugest you bring your bike to a dealer before it goes up in smoke!

Has your bike ever been stolen or are you aware of an attempt to steal it? It sounds like the ignition switch was severely tampered with. Does the switch look like somebody tried to hammer something into it? Are any wires going to the switch pulled out? It may be a failed attempt at hotwiring.

Right off the bat I think that you need to get a replacement ignition switch installed ASAP. You may want to consider having the police look at it if it looks like there was criminal activity of some sort on your bike.

If there is any good news, it is that if you can prove that somebody messed with your bike, your insurance should cover the repairs. Good luck.

All my electrics went down on my strada 05 plate, rev counter resets itself and the immobiliser light flashes but the digital screen does not show any signs of life, has it broken?

Insert the key in the ignition switch, switch on as if to start the bike. Pull the wire up and down that comes out of the bottom of the ignition switch. The pegaso's engine vibration tends to dis the solder joint inside the ignition switch. resoldering it doesn't solve the issue. Those units are expensive and I bypassed mine with a toggle switch. Be sure to install it out of the rain. They cannot start the bike without the coded ignition key, but the can open the tank cover and steal your fuel or throw something in it, so beware.

My 1996 Silverado does not do anything when trying to start. No clicking or anything. Battery ok. Jumpered clutch switch did not help.

Try hotwiring the solenoid on the starter. Suspect you have a bad solenoid. If hotwire works, problem is in wiring or ignition switch.

Replacing key ignition lock

Check your starter switch. That's how mine acted before it went completely. I wouldn't mess with "hotwiring" unless you know exactly what you are doing. Dodges are quirky as it is with their electrical systems.
