SOURCE: why dimming headlights and interior lights?

The outside lights could possibly be dim because the bulbs are burning out. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2006 ford explorer light in radio is not working now do i repair bought the vehicle used so have no owners manual. single mom trying to repair if i can

is it the radio only? do your other dash lights come up? example being, do your AC controls have light?

If all of your illumination lights are out, or dim. Check the light control switch underneath your dial for your head lights. It is a horizontal wheel that turns right and left. If its pushed all the way to the left you will have illumination for your AC controls and Dash dials, but the Stereo will not be backlit and appear very dim. Scroll this wheel to the right and you should notice the backlight on the stereo gets brighter.

I hope this helps because,

Anything beyond this is a wiring issue behind the stereo and will require someone with car electronics background to fix. It requires pulling the stereo out and fixing the broken wire harness.

Interior lights

You may need to go back to the Dealership and have them Run a Computer Check and see if it can tell them the Problem. Since we do not have the Owners Manual to locate the Switch, The Computer may be Sending a Trouble code through these Lights.
