1990 Kawasaki ZZR 600 Meta Alarm will not disarm

Hi I have just serviced my Kawasaki zzr600 which I press fob to disarm the alarm immobilizer nothing is happening battery fully charged and checked for loose wires it is a meta alarm factory fitted @

I have the same problem with immobiliser in a 2007 golf, i have yet to figure out the problem:
Immobiliser will not allow me to sart the car but, if I let it Cool off , sometime sit between 5-120 min. it will start. i have tried succesfully the disconnect the battery for 30 min.
- it not the battery, given boost and no result
- it's not the alternator, it been tested
- Starters are effected by Temperature, i think it's the starter.
let me know what you guys think

Hi it sounds like you have done everything you can do, it now looks like your going to need to get the immobilizer reset, this can be done at most garages but its best if you shop around to see the best price you can get as its not cheap.

have you tried locking the door with the key and then opening it with the key then try the car see if it will work.

failing that its going to need the imob re-programming so that it accepts your key fob, it may just be that you need the fob replacing as the chip inside could have failed they will be able to test all this for you.

let me know if you need further assistance, not that theirs much more i can do without being their with the equipment to test the immobilizer, hopefully it will just be the fob that needs replacing.

you could just try one last thing when you get in the car and put the key in the ignition try holding the fob as close as you can to the ignition barrel as this is where it picks the signal up from so try holding it close to their and see if that then lets you start the car

failing that its going to be a trip to the garage.

You need to disconnect Battery. On reconnecting, you will hear a "chirp" from the Alarm System. Within 2-3 seconds, press the button on your transmitter, and you should hear the Alarm respond correctly.

2005 Kawasaki ZZR 600 no spark


Hi, Ian and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty pulse coil.
8. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
9. Faulty ignition switch.
10. Faulty run/off switch
11. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
12. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

I have a datatool immobiliser,mpt 1340 wt licence exempt cept lpd gb. on my zzr600 and have no instructions how to use the fob the bike is an 04, any ideas every time i do simple maintenence the alarm goes...


yes... with the ignition in neutral and the alarm armed press the left button on the fob as you hold it... the alarm will make a different sound and flash sequence to the arming/disarming double and single beep... the alarm is now in "service mode" and you can move ad rock the bike as much as you like... when you are done, press left button again to deactivate sevice mode, then arm as normal......
