SOURCE: battery goes dead randomly ,other times starts right up

I had the same problem, every 3-4 months the battery was dead. Found to be the computer staying in a self diagnostic mode that was slowly draining the battery.

Cheers

SOURCE: yamaha 50 vino - starting problem

If it sat for a year without Sta-bil in the gas it is probably gummed up and you will have to remove the carb and clean the gunk out of the inside of it and check out all the passageways to make sure they are clean and open

SOURCE: I have a Yamaha TTR 225 4 stroke that is having issues starting

Carba/f ratio needs adjusting and use of the choke will help keep the idle circuits clean.

SOURCE: 2001 yamaha ttr 250, starts, idles ok, bogs at acceleration

Has the bike been stored for any long length of time?
old fuel in the carburetor will turn to a varnish like residue blocking the jets,or possibly water in the carburetor.

Testimonial: "The bike was not stored and was ridden regularly, but it still sounds like it could be the carburetor. Thanks for your insight."
