I have a 2011 Kawasaki mule. Replaced the safety neutral switch. It will start but when the key is turned off it keeps running. Thought maybe gas was coming in carburerator is what was keeping it running but it keeps running. What would be the problem

Most likely either a bad ground connection or a faulty ignition switch.

SOURCE: engine wont turn over with key, not getting enough gas to run.

Have the key and ignition checked! I am assuming that the key has a security chip on it, Right? If so, re-program key at dealership, and if that alone doesn't work, have them check both the key and column.

SOURCE: Key stuck in ignition

Under the steering column is an access plug. Remove the plug and insert a small shaft driver into the hole and push up gently, the key will release.

SOURCE: kawasaki mule heat light staying on

Replace the impeller in your water pump. It's an easy job and needs to be done every 2 or 3 years depending on use. Why they put a rubber impeller in these I do not know. Your local Kawasaki dealer will be able to help you with the part.

2012 Kawasaki mule 600. Problem is not always cranking when turning on ignition. You can keep trying and it will eventually crank, sometimes turning over slow. Replaced starter/solenoid, no help.

Not familiar with ATV's/motorcycles, but starting circuits are similar for all engines. Ignition switch provides 12 v to starter relay through neutral safety switch. Relay closes and provides 12 v to starter solenoid. Solenoid closes providing 12 v through battery cable to starter. Sometimes there are additional components in the circuit e.g. Theft Deterrent.

Sounds like either neutral safety switch or starter relay is being affected by heat. Check voltages in circuit when problem occurs to determine defective component an replace.

Mule 550, It starts fine, but will not shut off when the key is turned off....any suggestions?

Hey Matt, sounds like the switch is going bad.. I would see if it will start - WITH THE KEY OFF by "jumping" the solenoid.. if the switch is bad.. it might start... and confirm the switch is bad..

2011 Kawasaki Mule: Loses power when it warms up. even in cold weather. further you push the gas pedal less power it has.

If you have a vent hose coming out of your gas cap make sure it is not kinked. A kink in the hose will cause a vacuum in the gas tank and very slow gas delivery to engine, which would become apparent at higher engine rpms including after warm-up.

2010 Kawasaki 610 mule has no power when key is on and battery is good? There is 12 volts at the starter but nothing happens when you turn on the key switch.

Kawasaki mule 610 new battery but little to no power to solenoid. Fully charged starter makes rapid clicking noise. When attacked to battery jump starter it will start. Mule was running excellent for 2 weeks with new battery. I was told by kawasaki technician it was ignition. Nope thoroughly skimmed inspected wires and see nothing wrong. Technician told me different second time, it's now the starter replaced starter ($450) and still no results I'm at a loss

Kawasaki mule misfires only in reverse

I have an 88 Mule with the same problem. I thought maybe the float level was wrong but I cleaned and checked the carbs and it made no difference. I question fuses because it runs fine forward. There is a wire from the neutral/reverse switch going to the icigniter so I'm wondering if it is related to that. I'm sure someone has fought this problem. Thanks for the help.
