Recently purchased 2004 Yamaha SXViper 700ER. Less than 800kms. Was in storage. Only running on 1 cylinder. Bogs out at slower speeds. Does not bog out when going fast. Any suggestions?

Carbs cleaned, new plugs, etc. Starts great, only drives good at faster speeds. (Only wants to drive fast) When not driving fast, machine bogs out & dies. Only running on 1 cylinder. Unable to ride at faster speed when riding through bush or when I have a kid on the back of sled.

Did you check for good strong spark on both cylinders? If spark is good then go back and clean the carbs better you may have missed something. It doesn’t take much

SOURCE: 2001 yamaha ttr 250, starts, idles ok, bogs at acceleration

Has the bike been stored for any long length of time?
old fuel in the carburetor will turn to a varnish like residue blocking the jets,or possibly water in the carburetor.

Testimonial: "The bike was not stored and was ridden regularly, but it still sounds like it could be the carburetor. Thanks for your insight."
