Check the fuel filter it sounds like it's pluged and causing too much back presure this is causing an over load in the fuel pump causing it to stop working or to presure lock

What causes a 1986 goldwing 1200 sei to idle fast then slow

Are you using premium gas? Lower octane, especially "oxygenated" which is a fancy name for selling you 10% less gas replacing it for cheap alcohol; burns hotter and can cause this.
It's a carb-fuel problem most likely.

I have a 1986 F250 ford diesel PU that won't start. It has power to the starter but seems to have a short in the ignition. What can I do to check to see if the ignition switch is bad?

If the starter is turning over and it woln't start, here are a few things to check. Does the "wait to start" light come on and if so how long. 12-15 seconds on a cold start is normal. If it doesn't come on or comes on and goes off quickly then you probably have a glowplug or two no good.

Another thing to check is power to the Fuel shut off solenoid, It is the front connection on the top of the injector pump on the drivers side. Turn the key to the "run" position and then disconnnect the wire. You should hear a click, hook it back up and it should click again. If you get no click then run a hot wire from the battery positive to the solenoid and see if it starts. If it does then your problem is in the wiring circit to the solenoid. Check under hood Maxi Fuse #11.

I have a '94 F350 with the same engine and if the above doesn't fix it, comment here and I will try to give you some more things to check.

I have a 1986 Aspencade Goldwing GL1200A, The bike got blown over do to strong winds. I can get the engine started but it will shut down a few minutes later or driving it about 2 to 3 block.

The fuel doesn't reaches the carburetors fast enough and they run dry - there's something wrong with the fuel line, it's choked somehow. Or the fuel pump was damaged by the fall. You should also check the tank and its tap.

My 1986 volkswagen jetta won't stay running and i think it has something to do with the throttle body or injectors, when i start it, it stays running for 4 to 5 seconds then shuts off how do i fix this...

normally you will find if you replace the filters it should solve the prob although if it does not then fuel pump acumulator valve might be faulty or vacuum hose to it leaking ( located on the end of the fuel rail to injectors)

Engine miss at 45-55mph, no accleration with throttle response,

Anytime a bike sits for that long you stand a chance of fuel system problems. It sounds like you may need to "boil out" the carburetors and of course resynchronize them with vacuum gauges when you put it back together. You can also use a mercury manometer for synching the carbs. My guess is you have varnish still in the float bowls that is causing erratic running and perhaps the vacuum operated slides are not working correctly.
