SOURCE: how do i go about painting my wife's rav4 tire

You need flexible primer and paint, base-coat and clear coat. The kind that body shops apply apply to bumpers. Go to your paint store and tell them you are doing plastic. They will sell you what you need. If you use regular paint, it will crack. You really should use the flexible paints.

How is powder coating applied?

Electrostatic spraying is the most widely accepted powder application method by powder coating services and the electrostatic powder gun is the most important piece of equipment in this method. A fluid bed is also used for applying powder coating.

How do i fix a painted coffee table chip

This looks like you have a coffee table that has been powder coated (I may be wrong). This process allows for a very nice looking finish, but if it is chipped, it can't be fully repaired in the same way you would repair a regular painted surface.

To legitimately repair it, the entire table would need to be sand-blasted down to the surface and powder coated again.

As I'm sure that's not the solution you'll want to do, I would simply suggest a patch-job. Find a paint marker (similar to a sharpie, but instead of ink, it dispenses paint) which closely matches the paint of the table. You may want to pick up several shades at a hobby store of sorts. Simply apply the paint on the area so it doesn't draw the eye's attention. You'll know it's there and be able to see it, but in most cases, no one else will.

Try not to get any paint outside the lines of the chip. Keep it very localized.

You may want to put several coats on it to build it up.

If the table is wood and not powder coated, go to the store and get some putty to fill the hole and some fine-grit sandpaper to smooth the surface once it has dried. Once you've done that, you may paint the area according to your taste.

I want to paint my grill i have the red grill and i would like to powder coat the red area but i have been told it is enamel so i wanted to know if you could do that. the reason is we got acid on it and it...

Powder paint is sprayed as a dry dust. The nozzle imparts a charge to the paint particles and they are electrostatically attracted to the object, which is connected to give it the opposite charge. After powder painting it gets heated in an oven to 350 degrees for about 15 minutes and then cooled. At least that is how I remember it from when I was working in a plant that did powder painting of parts. The finished product is stronger than regular paint and much more heat resistant. I do know there are small scale powder paint kits because car restorers are able to get them and use them. I do not know where though. You should be able to search the internet for powder paint systems that you can use at home. I think the car mechanics have an old oven that they use to heat it with. My guess is that it will cost more for the kit then it will to replace the grill.

Paint colour for 1973 tx750 yamaha

Can duplicate the 73 paint but it is gold candy over silver metal flake.
  1. apply Grey primer sealer
  2. apply silver base coat, apply 3 coats
  3. apply silver metal flake mixed with clear, about 3 coats
  4. apply about 2 coats heavy clear
  5. sand clear smooth because metal flake makes it rough
  6. apply about 3 coats of tinted clear (candy gold or yellow)
  7. let it dry, inspect it, wet sand with 600 or finer
  8. apply final coats of clear to all parts except the fuel tank, apply only one coat to tank
  9. lightly wet sand the tank
  10. paint the gold and black striping on the tank, don't have any stickers and paint is thinner
  11. apply 3 medium coats of clear to the tank
  12. west sand with 1200 grit and polish all parts
  13. mix huge glass of good tequila, get lawn chair, sit back and admire
hope this helps

I have a Speed Triple 97' T-509, hardly used 5000 miles, the engining cover got scrapped on the right handside of the casing. I have tried serveral paint shops which they all say its a special heat...

The paint shops are likely correct, but there will be a number of powder coating shops that may be able to match the color. The powder coaters, coat many things like pool fencing.
You may have some success if you sand back the cover ,apply a aluminimum etch primer and then an epoxy paint.
The powder coating will probably last longer, as the alloy will eventually corrode under the paint and start to bubble.
If its a show quality bike, you may need to dig deep and get a new one from the trumpy dealer

Easy off turned my gray powder coat on my harley black.how do i remove it from the powder coat?

there is no going back, you have chemically changed the powder coat composition. Learn your lesson well and next time use a H-D listed cleaner and a very soft brush.
