How do I get my ryobi trimmer head to rotate back to weedeating from edging?

SOURCE: I need to know how to load a two string trimmer

most of these use 2 wires coming out of 2 holes on opposite sides roll the firstwire clockwise, then the 2nd counterclockwise so that when the spool turns the string comes out its not hard

try this get a good extension cord test it plug it in now with the trigger pulled wiggle the cord going into the weeder i have in the past moved the cord till i got working and taped it to the handle, if that dosent work get a new one

Being new, I'd return it if the the head flew off. When you say head I see the Engine head coming off and the engine be a total mess. What part are you actually talking about. Is it plastic or aluminum? Here is a link to PDF doc that you can download. If your talking about the part with the string that cuts, which I think you are, you need to screw it back on and make sure you have a something that is locking the screw in place while you screw it down. You can use the special tool that should have been included with the weed eater or use a Phillips head screwdriver in the locking hole to hold that mounting bolt steady for you. Check the fuel/oil mix ratio you are using. Some Ryobis use a 32:1 mix and some use a 40:1 mix. There isn't much difference there. To be on the safe side, if you machine is possibly running or tuned a little "lean" I would start off with about 4 oz/gallon oil to gas mix. Use synthetic 2-stroke oil also. Your machine will perform much better.

Your problem is caused by either drive shaft failure or.. clutch failure. Most of the time the drive shaft fails before the clutch.
