SOURCE: Whirling noise on start up and constant tinkling

Okay, think after process of elimination I now know what the offending part is. It seems that the Starter Pinion is not disengaging fully, and rattles about. So will replace this, finders crossed this solves the issue.

SOURCE: bike wont start

What do you mean "take out 1 plug"? Spark plug's plug?
Spark plugs are renewed?
You should also check the gears/sprockets that connects the starting motor with the crankshaft if all of them can spin freely around their pin.

SOURCE: i have a 2005 r6...just put in a new battery..bike wont start

maybe, now this is just a guess! but your starter shaft is just spinning and not engaging properly..check starter or solenoid to starter wire connections are that they are on solid, and no corrosion, measure bat volt!!!... should read 12.4v "minimum"! if not battery is either going bad or might need a charge...correct voltage reading should be 12.7v to 13volt.

SOURCE: I garaged my GSXR from the start of November due

You are operating the motorcycle on its center stand and in gear without a load so you are going to get a huge amount of lash from the chain and more importantly in the clutch assembly. It's really not a good idea to start it up and run it through the gears without a load on it, just not wise.

If you want the motorcycle to survive the cold months purchase some fuel stabilizer here is a web site with a good one page read.

http://www.thefarm.org/charities/i4at/surv/sta-bil.htm

Add the correct amount to what the tank has in it (you can guess) put the cap back on an shaker it up a little my sloshing the gas around a little to get a good mix.Fire up the motorcycle and leave it in neutral run it long enough to get it up to temperature and have the fuel stabilizer go through the fuel system. Shut it off and the only thing you need to attend to is the battery make sure it has a charge in it by purchasing a trickle charger. I leave my bike alone all winter after using the fuel stabilizer in it for a tank of gas. It's parked in my studio under cover and left till spring, the room never gets below 20c or 68F and charge the battery in the spring.

Cheers have a great day

How do I change a stater on a 2000 yamaha r1

hi, first you must disconect the earth from the battery, remove front seat, by unscrewing the 2 alun bolts 5mm, undo the bolts securing the front of the fuel tank, and prop up the tank, the starter can then be seen on the top of the engine, as well as from the left hand side above the front sprocket housing, fold back the rubber cover on the starter cable, now undo the nut securing the cable to the starter, NOTE ORDER OF WASHERS FITTED, AND REPLACE IN SAME ORDER,

now undo the bolts securing the starter to the engine, and remove the starter by pulling it out to the left, you may need to prise it from the engine with a pry bar placed gently between starter and engine.

when replacing the starter apply a small amount of oil to the seal around the starter to ease refitment, replace wire, inc cover and reconect the battery,

in some cases it may be easyer to remove the fuel tank to improve working conditions, this will require you to turn off the fuel tap located at the rear of the fuel tank in the middle by the top of the rear shock absorber, when replacing donot forget to turn the fuel back to the on position

Did you ever think of having it diagnosed by a qualified repair shop ? Thier are aspects associated with this system you have no clue about. That's the first thing every one goes for , changing the switch . It flashes because codes are stored .

Transfer Case Shift Control Module
The transfer case shift control module uses the VIN information for calculations that are required for the different calibrations used based on axle ratio, transmission, tire size, and engine. The system does not know which calibration to use without this information.
The direct battery supply line (CKT 1640) provides the power to the module and motor circuitry.
Transfer Case Encoder Motor
The transfer case encoder motor consists of a permanent magnet (PM) DC motor and gear reduction assembly. It is located on the left hand side (drivers side) of the transfer case. When activated it turns the sector shaft of the transfer case (clockwise or counter clockwise) to shift the transfer case. The encoder motor is controlled with a pulse width modulated (PWM) circuit within the transfer case shift control module. This circuit consists of a driver on both the Motor A and Motor B circuits. The encoder motor is bi-directional to allow the motor to shift the transfer case from 2HI or 4HI to neutral and 4LO positions.
Transfer Case Encoder
Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop .

Replaced battery, went to start it and it wouldnt, turned key and all it does is click once, motor does not turn over and im pretty sure the starter isnt engaging

The starter sounds like it has a bad solenoid, but in this case the starter will have to be replaced to get a new solenoid and starter together.

If the battery is new and the connections are good, then a starter should fire the car right up.
In this case it is not, so I would say it's a starter.

I assume you were having trouble starting the vehicle, so changed the battery.

Turn key to start but only makes a click sound battery is fine

this problem is caused by burned battery connection contacts inside the starter motor solenoid (part of the starter), the click is the solenoid pluger being pulled back to make a battery connection to turn the starter, in your case that connection is never made due to burned away contacts. this is the most common problem with all modern light weight "mini" starters.

Need procedures on replacing the timing belt on a 2005 jeep liberty 2.4L engine.

first thing to do is disconnect the battery, then put a socket on the belt tensioner and rotate counter-clockwise to loosen and remove the belt. next locate the timing belt sprocket case (in front of the engine, top middle of engine) remove the screws holding the casing on. when you have it off you should see the 2 sprockets holding the timing belt, be careful to line up the 2 notches on the sprockets ( to do this you must turn the engine crank by hand using a wrench or ratchet) by this time you should see the bottom of the casing that houses the timing belt. remove the lower case and u should see the whole timing belt and set up. hop this helps you out.

When attempting to start vehicle, you hear the starter whirling loudly, but not engaging the flywheel. Starter checked and it is good, battery checked and it is good also. All connections cleaned of all...

Just because your starter motor spins does not make it 100% good - it only makes it 50% good.

The other thing the starter has to do is move it's gear forward about 1/2-1" to engage the flywheel gear of the engine.

It sounds like your starter motor is not advancing, so I would continue to check there to make sure it is moving forward when current is applied. If you remove it from the car but leave the power connection, you can try turning the engine to see if it reacts correctly. If not, consider rebuilding or replacing it.

Starter grinding

You must take off the right hand engine cover and after unscrewing CLOCKWISE the main bolt that holds the flywheel you need a special KTM puller to pull out the stator rotor (flywheel).Behind that there is a group of parts that you should replace. The large sprocket, the clutch system that the large sprocket is into (special formed balls in a spring) and the hub that is screwed behind the flywheel.Use OEM parts (even for the 5mm allen screws if they need to be renewed).Use 18Nm for those allen screws adding locking nut adhesive on their threads (Locktite).
Work backwords to reinstall it and the flywheel's main bolt uses 120Nm of torque to tight it up on the crankshaft COUNTERCLOCKWISE.Use new gasket for the engine case and 12Nm for the bolts.
