How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Are you saying it will start and idle, but if you put it in gear, it stalls? I didn't quite understand your last sentence? My database doesn't have much on your particular vehicle? I did find fuel pressure spec for 1798 cc engine, 51 psi.
Fuel--spark--compression. I'd probably want to check if your losing rpm signal? I can only talk to you about the basics.

SOURCE: Runs 5 minutes then dies. Won't start until engine is cold.

Try the WD-40 spray in intake of throttle body with air intake hose off, to see if it will kick at all, even for a second or 2. We need to confirm whether your losing fuel or spark when it dies. Ignition & fuel, can cause similar symptoms in this case.

SOURCE: locked via keyless with engine running

Most newer cars have a safety feature that locks the door when the ignition is turned on or the car is put in gear. This can sometimes be a problem, as you found out, if the keys are left in the ignition in the on position and you get out of the car shutting the door sometimes this safety feature kicks in and locks the door on you with the keys in the car. I understand this was a mistake on your part, thinking you did take the keys, but if you ever just stop with the car running and jump out to run in the house, roll down the window enough to get your arm in to unlock the door.

SOURCE: car dies starts back up runs then dies again

check your ignition coil for cracks. i had the same problem. when the coil heats up it expands thus causig a break in the windings. it cost me $300 to find this out.

Try changing or switching out the distributor. Most likely getting hot and shuts down. Does it crank but no start whenever it stops? May only start when it cools down again.

2009 nissan versa stalls and stops after stop and go city driving or, 30 plus minute highway driving

Hi Kathleen, I'm glad to help!

Kathleen, I can tell you this because I work at a dealer myself and through the years when a problem comes in like yours and we can't find anything wrong its because whatever is causing the issue is not setting a code. There is only a few things that can cause a problem like yours and not set a code. (1) Fuel pumps can cause intermittent problem but will never set a code. After running for a while they will simply stop working but then after sitting a while will cool down and work fine again. (2) Exhaust issues. After the exhaust system has a lot of years and miles on it, the debris inside it can restrict the air flow and in some cases cause the vehicle to die and run poorly after a restart, but after sitting awhile the debris falls back down and the vehicle runs fine again until it happens again. NOTE: I'm not saying that either of these is your problem BUT, you have to start somewhere. Your only other option would be to let it die until the check engine light come on and then you'll know for sure it has set a code. After it sets a code then the dealer should be able to find your problem. The problem is that if its one of the issues I mentioned it will never set a code. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Kathleen.
