Your carbs are gunked up and the floats are stuck and it allows fuel to keep pouring in. Remove your plugs and clear the fuel out of the cylinders before you try to start it after carbs are cleaned. If fuel is coming out exhaust gas is going into carbs.

SOURCE: Ford F100 Fuel System

There are a couple things here. In the first place if you can pump fuel with the pump off the engine and pumped by hand doesn't mean that it will pump on the engine. See the stroke on the engine is very short, it only moves like 1/4 inch. So you could have a bad pump even though you are pumping by hand. The gas cap, will have no effect on this model. Yes the pick-up tube has a filter on the bottom of it, and it could be stopped up. You can remove this unit up through the top of the tank, got to wiggle it and turn it sideways, and if you can find a used one( New ones scarce and expensive) by going to used parts place, and look for 1967 - 1972, they are all alike. Lots a luck in fixing this great ole truck.

SOURCE: Exhaust Pipes on 1995 Suzuki Intruder VS

Hi Lcyr.
Any changes you make to the exhaust system will alter the sound the bike produces. The more you cut baffles, and open up the exhaust, the louder it will get.  What you do alter to a greater extent,is the state of tune of the motorcycle. Any changes to exhaust or inlet plumbing will require a retune of the engine to suit the modifications. This can be subtle to dramatic. Opening up exhausts can often rob low end power where exhaust port scavaging is relient on some back pressure for maximum effect.
Best to work directly with an engine tuner to do the mods that are known you can get away with, or buy aftermarket prebuilt pipes that have a known previously tested state of tune. Nothing worse than doing something, that then costs money to put back the way it was on finding out it didnt work as well as was hoped.. Hope this has helped you steer your custom mods a little.  I can say with certainty, that I have ventured to do what you are doing many times in the past, and it has always cost me more money in tuning and... and well more parts :)  Cheers
regards robotek

SOURCE: Crankcase capacity on 2002 Suzuki VS 800

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic lubricants, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.

I don't have a service manual on your particular bike so just check oil quantity with the dealer when you go to buy the new oil filter. Don't forget to lube the cables and chain when doing the oil change.

SOURCE: My suzuki intruder is missing backfiring on the

Did you sync the two carbs? If not the rear may be getting all the gas from the rear carb and none to the front. Twist throttle engine off and see if front carb cable is pulling the carb open.
Also unscrew the spark plug boot from the front spark plug wire and trim 1/8th inch off the wire and screw the boot back in. The plug wire end may be corroded on that wire.

How do i change fuel filter

If there are no fuel filters visible between the tank and the fuel pump, the only fuel filters are in the tank. They are self cleaning and do not need maintenance. If the intake filters on the petcock are damaged they are part of the fuel petcock. The whole petcock will need to be replaced. You can always add an additional filter in line before the fuel pump, but it should not be necessary. To replace the fuel filter you need to drain the tank and replace the fuel petcock.

There is a fuel filter in the gas tank and there may be and in-line (Fuel Line) filter as well.
