How to turn off check engine lite for code 13 2009 v star 950 Yamaha
SOURCE: i had 2003 ford wind
Hi, this is usually caused by the lower intake gaskets--not the plenum. But, just to be sure, first make sure you don't have a leak in one of those vacuum hoses attached to the back of the plenum. Then, get some carb cleaner, start the engine, and spray the rear gaskets as shown in the picture below. If the engine revs at all, you have a leak. This manifold is a pain to get out, because it has so much stuff connected. Be careful not to lose the orings in the water hose quick disconnect. Also, check operation of the butterflies in the manifold and clean them if they stick. Please let me know if you have questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Error code 24 is a faulty oxygen sensor -- a relatively cheap fix. Incidentally, a faulty O2 sensor is the most common cause for a steady "Check Engine" light on any vehicle. Your V-Star is just courteous enough to tell you exactly what is wrong.
