SOURCE: fuse box

The main fuse is under the panel on the right side behind the forks and the rest of the fuses are in the crank case under the cover...where you fill the oil.

SOURCE: Suzuki intruder 1500 charging system

You need to buy a volt meter and set it on 10, or 20 v-. Start the bike and see what it says. A good charging system will show 13-14+ volts. If the meter says 11-12 volts or does not change, you have a bad stator, or rect/reg. Take to a shop to have it further tested. Chaz Moto DC

Here is a schematic, parts list, and prices for your 2004 VL 1500. Friction disks wear out and have to be replaced at regular intervals. Clutch slipping is almost always remedied by replacement of the friction disks.

SOURCE: how to adjust clutch 1998 Suzuki VL 1500 intruder

The clutch on this model is hydraulic and is 'self adjusting", if the clutch is slipping the plates are worn out and in need of replacement. This information comes directly from the factory service manual.

Not charging 2001 Suzuki VS 1400 Intruder

Check you stator output. Find where the wires come out of the stator and unplug them. In the plug you should find either 3 white wires or 3 yellow wires. Test for short to the bike by attaching your blaCk meter lead to the bike frame which should be cleaned for good ground or clip it to the negative post of your battery. Then touch your red lead to all 3 wires one at a time. Any reading at all dictates a short and the stator needs to be replaced. Then check the 3 wires with the neg and pos leads you should get a small resistance reading that'll be normal. If it checks out then your next culprits would in all likely hood be your regulator. Hook up your meter to your battery red on red black on black. Fire up the bike and rev it up to see battery voltage. Anything over 14.3 usually indicates you do have a charging problem. Try another regulator if all else checks out like I explained to you. Remember no resistance allowed on any of the white or yellow wires when meter lead is grounded to the bike.

Suzuki 1986 intruder red light on dash

Check the battery is charging correctly. the voltages at the battery should be engine off- about 12.4 volts DC . Engine running at about 1000 rpm the voltage should be about 14.4 volts DC. if these voltages are down, you have a regulator, rectifier or alternator problem.

Rear tail light does not turn on.1998 suzuki 1500 intruder

It mught be the bulb that needs replacing or else check the wiring to the bulb for continuity in case there is a broken or snapped bit.If you have a voltmeter then you can test the voltage reading at the point of contact..Sometimes rust builds up and a simple cleaning would solve this.Hope this helps.

2002 suzuki intruder vl1500 not charging battery

Check the voltage across the battery with the engine running - it should be greater than 13.5V.
If less, then you have a failure in your charging system, either the stator and/or the Rectifier/Regulator.
See this personally authored diagnostic guide on how to determine which part is defective. Also has a recommendation for excellent replacement as opposed to std OEM.

Battery does not hold charge new battery fitted

Sounds like a charging issue. First check all wires and make sure they are clean and making good contact, then check for proper voltage at the battery. I ride a harly so I don't know the exact voltage to look for but it most likly is around 13V at the battery if it isn't you need to look at your voltage regulator and stator.
