SOURCE: gear problems

Take it to the dealer to have a quick look at it, it could just be either a bit of running in stickyness or they forgot to check something was tightened up properly before you got your hands on it. Failing that, try an oil additive such as Slick50 in the oil tank, a fuel additive such as Redex in the fuel tank and if the engine's water / liquid cooled (spot the bike expert) stick something like Redline Waterwetter in the coolant tank... and it might feel a bit better (and last longer).

A tune up will not cure the lean code, in fact an engine miss gives a rich code from the unburned fuel. I would suggest u verify u have no vacuum leaks, also clean the inside of the MAF sensor if so equipped and replaced the bank two O2 sensor, that is the passenger side sensor before the catalytic converter. If u have the money replace both right and left sensors, it is better to do them in pairs.

SOURCE: Service Engine Soon Light

On all cars and trucks that are 1996 or newer they have a system called obd2 and the computer monitors anything thats plugged into it like sensors. The light is on because your computer has found a problem with 1 or more of them. If you want to know what area is having a problem you need to have the codes read by a obd2 scanner or code reader some auto part stores do this for free or oil
change store or mechanic shop

SOURCE: torque setting

I don't work on many Suzuki's so I don't need a service manual. But I believe you will find several at the site below. The site has free PDF downloads. I hope this helps!

DL1000 flat spot, miss and occasional backfire at 2700rpm.Whats the fix?

In view of late model, still under warranty, take back to dealer. If out of warranty I suggest the following checks.

Remove / check spark plugs they should all be the same colour, light grey / clean looking.

Does it do same on bike stand at same revs. If so may be an air leak. check all clamps on induction side. Squirt CRC brake cleaner / engine start around intake area where manifold is while its missing and if it disappears then air leak indicated.
If you have the means to check spark at this rev then you may find the spark is breaking down.

Horse power

According to several websites the DL1000's water cooled V-twin makes 98 HP. On a 457 pound bike that provides very strong performance.
