Removing the battery for a 2004 Dyna Low Rider

I understand there a two bolts that have to be removed/loosen up. Where exactly are the bolts located and are they easily accessible without removing any parts? Thanks.

Yes, both bolts are to the left of the battery as you face the bike. One removes out towards you (first), the other loosens downward (second). As you loosen the bolt the battery tray will move down. You do not need to remove the second bolt. Only loosen it until the chrome battery cover clears the frame. Once clear, remove the top and side covers. Good luck

Hi, I can't find how to take the battery cover off my 2005 dyanlow

I have not worked on any of the newer Dyna's but this is the way Harley usually does the Dyna battery trays. To get the battery out, first remove the seat. Now, look at the battery tray and on the left side is a bolt that screws into the frame and then one that screws upwards hold the battery tray. There is also a bolt on the right side that screws upwards into the frame. Take the bolt on the left out, loosen the bolt that screws horizonally into the frame but don't take it out. Now, lower the battery tray by loosening the bolt that screws upward into the frame on the left side of the battery. This bolt is a "jack bolt" and raises and lowers the battery tray. It might not be exactly like this but I'm pretty sure whatever Harley is using is similar to this.

Good Luck

Cannot remove battery cover. it seems to be lodged under the frame

On the older model Dynas, there were two bolts between the battery and the rear fender. You had to loosen these two bolts as they hold the battery tray. Then you had to remove the seat and look down inside the frame just inside of the battery. There is a bolt head right there. This is a jack bolt. Turn the bolt counterclockwise to lower the battery tray, clockwise to raise it. This will release the battery top cover.

Good luck

How do i take out battery or get to it to jump start it

On most Dyna models, you must first remove the seat. Remove the single bolt at the rear of the seat going into the fender, lift the rear of the seat, and pull to the rear. If you have a sissy bar on the bike, you may have to remove it to get the seat off.

On the right hand side of the bike where the battery is, just to the rear of the battery are two bolts. Loosen these bolts. Now, look behind the battery from the top of the frame where the seat was. You should see a bolt that is a "jack bolt". By turning the bolt counterclockwise, you lower the battery allowing you to remove the battery top cover and the wrap around cover.

Disconnect the negative side of the battery first when removing a battery. Reconnect the negative side of the battery last when installing a battery.

I need to know where and how do i remove the battery from my 2005 dyna low rider

The battery is under the seat on the right side of the bike. You must first remove the seat by removing the screw on the top of the rear fender that holds the seat in place...you can't miss the screw, it's a big chrome philips head screw. Once the screw is removed, lift the seat up slightly and gently pull towards the rear of the bike; this will release the front of the seat from it's retaining tab. Now that the seat is off, look at the right side of the bike, the chrome box there is the battery compartment. I believe the bolts connecting the battery are 10mm...you can undo them with a wrench and pull the battery out.

How do you remove battery from dyna low rider 2002?

I have an early model and I think they're still the same in that area. There are two bolts on the right side of the battery support. Loosen these two bolts and the battery will drop down a bit allowing you to remove the battery top cover and front cover.
