SOURCE: Charging problem on 1985 Yamaha FJ1100

I f you find the regulator, there will be three wires ln the connector the same color(yellow?) any pair of these should produce 50-60v AC with the engine running. If you get AC voltage, then it is likely a regulator problem

SOURCE: FJ1100 won't turn over when under compression.

Sounds like the starter sprag clutch on the flywheel is slipping.

Testimonial: "thank you I will look into that. How might you go about fixing that? I want to try and avoid taking the engine apart again if that is possible."

SOURCE: PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP....1992 YAMAHA FZR 600,

Check the spark timing.

Check fuel delivery. If it consistently runs on starter fluid then dies when that is exhausted, suspect a vacuum leak in the carburetor or intake manifold. This will keep the engine from sucking in fuel.

SOURCE: My yamaha raptor has power,

Check the compression, pull the spark plugs one at a time if more then one. If you don't have a compression gauge, you can put your figure over the spark plug hole, be mindful that before it blows it's going to **** so make sure that you don't hurt yourself leave a little gap so your figure doesn't suction down to tight. If your getting compression it should **** and blow pretty hard. If it seems to have good pressure and suction. You might need to check your timing, also make sure that you can feel air moving out the exhaust, might not be able to with the pipes on it but if it won't start and your getting everything else it needs to run gas, spark, etc. It has to almost be timing or compression.
