SOURCE: bike is completely dead

Could be the relay switches such as the flasher relay etc. Wiring could also be the problem. A shorted positive wire on the chassis (negative) can have a negative effect on all the other circuits.

SOURCE: when i turn my key on nothing happens on the dash

Both cables firmly connected? Good ground? Cables connected properly (+ to start solenoid, - to the frame?) Is there power at the battery? You measured the battery with a Volt/Ohm meter? What about the solenoid? Have power on the battery side?

Couple things for you to check. Currently, the website is not notifying we volunteer question catchers of comments posted to questions ... so, if none of this works, please reformulate your quesiton with the latest information and repost.

SOURCE: Starting fault

There is also a safety switch on the clutch lever that could give the same symptoms.
Another thing to check is the fuse block that has a starter relay built in (hidden) above the fuse compartment. My D5 has the same symptoms and this is the problem. If I keep the starter button depressed for some seconds the relay operates and bike starts.

SOURCE: Engine stall on throttle up

It obviously sounds like its being starved for fuel, you said that you replaced the pump and the filter, what about the carbs ? has anyone checked them out ?

If the bike has been sitting over the winter and the carbs were not drained or if the fuel wasn't stablized then you might have some dirty carbs, you can try draining the float bowls and then adding fresh fuel see if that helps, if not you'll likely have to pull your carbs and clean then. Todays fuel doesn't las that long before it goes bad.

SOURCE: neutral light off but motor is in neutral , bike won't start

Check your stand safety switch. Or your gear sensor. One of these is guilty!!!

Honda Hornet electrical fault

Hi,

you are smart to have checked the fuses. I would just start by replacing each bad light's bulb and determine if the light functions again. If this doesn't work, then you'd need a more detailed look at the wire that connect to each bulb. If the horn shares any wires with the lights, that would probably be a good wire to start testing before moving on.

Thank you.

No lights and power on ZZR1100

Sounds like a neutral switch relay problem....check your relays and fuses..........

Wont start at all

If you have no light you can't even hot wire it sounds like the ignition switch is bad in the start and run positions.

1978 yamaha dt250 no brake lights, turn lights,no horn only front headlight good fuse runs fine

MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS IN A GOOD STATE OF CHARGE, ON THE OLDER BIKES WITH AC LIGHTING THE BATTERY ACTS AS A RESISTOR, HENCE IF THE BATTERY ISOLD AND NO LONGER WORKING, WHEN YOU RUN THE MACHINE ALL THE BULBS WILL BLOW, STARTING WITH THE NEUTRAL LIGHT, AND SO ON, AS THE BRAKE LIGHT , HORN , AND INDICATORS ALL WORK ON THE DC ELECTRIC SIDE IT WOULD PROBABLY BE A GOOD IDEA TO CHECK YOU ARE GETTING 6VOLTS FROM THE BATTERY TO THE IGNITION SWITCH, YOU COULD LOOK FOR BROKEN WIRES AROUND THE HEADSSTOCK AREA, OR CORRODED BLOCK, AND OR BULLET CONECTORS ALSO IN THE COMPLETE HARNES.

Starting fault

There are two safety switches that you may need to test. 1) Neutral safety switch- this switch is what tells the bike that it's in neutral and allows the starter to engage. 2) Kickstand safety switch- this switch will not allow the bike to run in gear if the kickstand is down. My initial guess is the neutral safety switch. If the neutral safety switch is bad, then you will not be able to start the bike with the kickstand down because the bike thinks that it's in gear (even if in neutral). This also may explain why the initial intermitent problem of not starting when warm since the metal contacts will expand and possibly not make contact when warmed up. Are you trying to start the bike with the kickstand up or down? If it were the kickstand safety switch, the bike would probably start okay and then die when you put it in gear.
