SOURCE: '95 Yamaha YZ 125 clutch - stays in gear when clutch is pulled in

hey dude,, just thought id come in and give u some tips or 3,, i take it when u pull clutch lever in, and try and change gear it feels like your foot will snap b4 it goes in gear,, if that makes sense,, firstly mate,is to make sure the clutch cable slides freely ,easest way is to take cable off and just grab 1 end and make sure it isnt sticky,, if so dip one end of the cable in a bit of old oil ,,whilst holdin the other end ,pull and push the cable inner, this will **** up a bit of lubricant inside the cable ,, keep doin this each end till free to move, ,,next step if the cables ok,,, and may need help if u dont no,drain the oil out,,and as u r sat on the bike is to remove the clutch casing on the right hand side of the moter, where the bottom end of the cable goes, remove the casing being carefull not damage the gasket,,then u will see clutch plates and friction plates housed,, undo the 7 or 8 spring loaded bolts carefully take the first fibre plate out then metal friction plate then another fibre plate and so on,, wen u take the 1st plate out place that on the bench ,stacking each plate on top of one another, cause they have to go back in as they came out,,wen out,,u need a piece of wet n dry paper ,or fine emery,,and just wipe round both sides of the fibre plates taking the shine off them,as u put them back in,, put casing back on with a decent gasket,, oil back in cable on, make sure cable has no free play on the lever so wen u r about to pull lever in it bite straight away,, start her up, warm it up and try it,,any probs still il eat my shoe,, take care m8

SOURCE: clutch not engaging properly

The clutch is not dis-engaging properly. Cables can stretch a bit. There shou;ld be an adjuster either at the clutch handle or at the transmission. Just take most, not all, of the slack out of the cable.
You should be back to normal now.

Please rate this solution as "FixYa" or post a comment if the problem is still present. Thanks!

SOURCE: My Clutch won't engage into gear. Need advice!

Did you check the clutch reservoir under the hood mounted on the firewall, driver side? Make sure level is up where it should be. If it's real low, you may have to bleed the system to get the air out. If you need to add fluid, use brake fluid.

SOURCE: 1998 kdx 200 clutch will not dis-engage

The clutch's plates must be stuck.Disassemble them and renew if necessary. The clutch lever should have 3mm freeplay and the spring's bolts should be tighten at 14Nm.

2013 KX450 1st gear won't up shift to neutral while engine is running and will select 2nd. Selects neutral from 2nd by lightly depressing gear lever while engine is running.

the clutch is dragging, its not completely dis engaging when the clutch is pulled in, try taking some slack out of the clutch cable by tightening the cable just near the clutch lever , this shold pull the clutch further in and help finding neutral

Daytona 675 electrical problems

Sounds like you may have pulled the clutch cable somewhere and it is jammed and not letting the clutch engage. Most likely not a wireing issue.

Loncin diamo atv 250cc wont move!!i have a 2004 loncin avalanche atv 250cc. the quad starts right up goes into gear but wont move like its stuck in neutral. it has the honda style "auto" clutch...

if it just revs up the the centrifical clutch needs to be changed but if it doesnt then the trans or the rear end might be jamed or even locked up.

Hi!!!!! i have an kawasaki zx6r 1998 and it dosent want to start , i started it 2 days ago, but today it dosent want i charged battery, and when i push start button it dosent do nothing, i checked coil...

Check the clutch, neutral and side stand safety interlocks.
Double check that the bike is in neutral, and the clutch is pulled in when trying to start the bike.
If the bike is in gear with the side stand down, the bike cuts off all ignition.
If the clutch isn't pulled in, the starter won't engage.
Check all these safety interlock switches, and make sure you are in neutral with the clutch in when trying to start the bike.

1997 Yamaha YZF 1000 clutch and/or transmission problem?

well this is something that is as you said " not normal" i would guess that clutch is smoked. after it warms up do a 3rd gear roll on at about 45 mph. if you drop the hammer and the motor revs and you don't go anywhere stop the ride and R&R your clutch
something else to make sure of is that you clutch fuild is good and has no air in the line
Good luck
